"So what are you going to do?" Ez asked.

We were sitting at the island in the kitchen, Wes cooking up supper in front of us. I had just explained what Mira had told me before leaving.

"I can't stop thinking about Sara," I admitted. "I feel like any choice I make right now affects my chances with her."

"'Cause it does," he agreed. "There's nothing you can do now that you've come back here that won't."

I grunted. I wasn't thrilled with my choices. But it didn't seem like I had a lot to pick from.

"Wes?" He turned around and looked at me, raising an eyebrow. "What exactly is marking like?"

"It's simpler than you're gonna make it," he answered, turning back to his work. "You bite right at the base of her neck where her shoulder starts. It will be a deep bite, you will just barely break the skin. It will leave a crescent shape in the shape of your teeth that will stay there for the rest of her life. It will show everyone that you are mated. More importantly, when you choose to leave again, probably for this Sara that you are talking about, the Luna will not be affected as severely."

I rolled my eyes. "Thanks."

Ezra grinned at my irritation. "Whatcha cooking, Wes?"

I zoned out while they started talking food and Ez got up and started working with Wes.

By the time I heard the front door open and saw Mira go upstairs I knew what I had to do. I followed her upstairs and sat on the bed. The shower was already running. After several minutes the water cut off and Mira came out wet headed and wrapped in a towel. She started getting dressed in another pair of shorts and a tank, and I looked down at my hands in my lap to give her some privacy that I could tell she didn't care about having.

A pair of naked feet appeared in my line of vision and I looked up to see her standing in front of me with her arms crossed.

I sighed. "Will it hurt you?"

"Yep," she said, popping the last letter. "Usually a marking takes place during kissing or sex. That usually takes away the pain. This I'll feel, but I've been hurt worse."

I looked back down, ashamed. I was pretty sure I'd caused most of the hurt she was talking about.

"Does that mean you've come to your decision?" she asked, getting down to business.

"I'll mark you."

Without answering she sat down on the bed behind me.

I turned and crawled in between her legs and crouched over her, feeling awkward.

"Make it quick and don't be surprised when I pass out."

I frowned at her directness.

Slowly, I let my weight down against her, and her surprised eyes flew up to meet mine. I traced her cheekbone down to her jaw with my fingertips and smiled when the tingles took over. I could tell that she felt them too. I wasn't ready to kiss her lips yet, but I leaned down and kissed the corner of her mouth. She lifted a hand to tangle it in my hair and before I knew it she was pulling my mouth down on hers. She was too strong for me to stop her. I kissed back, unable to stop the magnetic effect of the heat flowing through us.

She loosened her grip on my hair and I turned my face to the side of hers and began kissing a path down to where Wes had said to mark her. Without giving myself a chance to think, I bit down as hard as I could make myself. Mira let a quiet moan slip out, and I was relieved that she didn't sound pained.

I released the bite and pulled back to look at it. Surprisingly there was no blood, but I could see a fresh pink crescent shaped line where my teeth just were. I leaned down and pressed a light kiss to Mira's forehead. She grinned, looking tired. Her eyes slid closed and her body relaxed. She had said she would pass out. I slowly got up and covered her up.

I walked to the bathroom and a look in the mirror showed me someone who didn't even look like me. I couldn't get rid of the feelings running through my body. I stripped and took a quick shower trying to calm myself down.

When I got out Mira was still conked out in bed and had barely moved since I'd left her. I pulled on a pair of jeans and a white t-shirt that she had bought me and walked downstairs to where Wes and Ezra were sitting and eating.

"I know what you've been up to..." Ez teased, grinning.

I rolled my eyes and sat down by him as Wes stood and started fixing me a plate.

"We didn't do anything," I said, trying to shut him down. "I just marked her."

"And that statement shows how ignorant you are," Wes muttered, dropping my plate in front of me. "Marking isn't a small deal for us. I hope you get that through your head before she wakes up. By the smell of you y'all did a little more than marking. If you don't realize what that's going to look like to her then you're going to do more damage than good."

"Okay, so we kissed. You happy now?" I was genuinely irritated. "I liked it. I'd like to do it more. She's special. Is that what you're wanting to hear? That I know I messed up and I'm honestly only doing what I feel is right right now?"

Wes actually had the nerve to smile. "If you're going to be my Alpha I want to know it's because you love my Luna."

"Whoa, now let's not jump to the 'L' word just yet," I backtracked.

Ezra started cracking up beside of me, and slapped me on the shoulder. "Give it time, bro."

I rolled my eyes and started eating. I wasn't going to get anywhere with these two.
