Sana had her eyes closed as she lied down, the softness of the blue blanket under her protecting her from the grass below. A light breeze went by, shifting her hair slightly before stopping. The sun invaded the shelter the trees above were supposed to provide. The sound of a panting dog came and left, and children playing on the nearby playground continued.
"Sana unnie?" Dahyun spoke up, a few inches to her right.
"Hmm?" She hummed.
"It's Momo unnie and I's anniversary soon, and I need help in choosing what to get her—"
"Food," Sana replied almost immediately.
The Japanese opened her eyes and turned her head to look at her friend, who still had her eyes focused upwards. Dahyun's eyes furrowed as she took in Sana's answer.
"Food?"
"Yeah. Momo unnie likes food a lot. Maybe make her a gift basket of her favorite foods. Or take her to her favorite restaurant. There's a festival coming in a few days. Take her there."
Dahyun's face relaxed as she nodded against the blanket. "Ah. Thanks, unnie. Maybe festival and dinner. I'm probably gonna have to work overtime for a few days. But it'll be worth it."
Sana chuckled as she closed her eyes again. "Maybe you'll be able to pop the big question soon, eh?"
"What?!"
"Come on," Sana opened her eyes again, looking into Dahyun's slightly panicked brown ones. "It's so obvious you two are in love. She talks about you so much when it's just her and I. And here you are now, worrying about your anniversary."
Dahyun blushed, looking away. "She talks about me?"
"Don't pretend you don't know."
"I know maybe once or twice. Not a whole lot."
"Soon you'll be out of the country like Jihyo and Jeongyeon, getting legally married."
Dahyun gave a small whine. "They're honestly goals, and I hope Momo and I could be like them! Are they still having a party when they get back?"
Sana nodded. "Mmhmm."
They sat in silence for a few moments, Sana looking back up and closing her eyes. Her fingers absentmindedly played with the hem of her shirt as Dahyun talked again.
"So, how about you? How are you holding up?" Dahyun softly asked.
It's been over a year since Sana and Tzuyu officially broke up. At first, Sana was a complete mess. She had been mad at Tzuyu, but to actually lose her was heartbreaking. She stayed in her house for a solid two months before Jihyo and Jeongyeon dragged her out, snot tissues stuck against her skin and clothes, and hair looking as if it hadn't seen a brush in years. Eventually, Sana began putting herself back together, until she was able to only glance at an advertisement with her ex without thinking about the memories.
"The thing about having an ex who's a model, is that you see her everywhere," Sana joked sourly. "But I'm not crying anymore. I'm fine now."
"Have you found anyone else?"
Sana's tried to get back into the dating scene, but it just hasn't work. There wasn't anybody she just clicked with. There had been this Japanese guy she shared a lot in common with, but they knew they couldn't be anymore than friends, and they left it that way.
"Not yet. I probably won't ever."
"Don't say that." Dahyun swatted at her arm. "You'll find the person for you, I promise."
"They might be right in front of me and I won't notice," Sana chuckled.
"True! That's how Momo and I met. She was in front of me at a vending machine and had dropped a coin. Love works in mysterious ways, don't you thi—"
"Sana."
The said girl's blood ran cold at the voice, and Dahyun tensed beside her. The two sat up abruptly, and Sana felt sick at who she saw. The person who she had fell so in love with. The person who she thought she would spend her entire life with. The person who broke her heart without thinking about it twice.
"Come on, Dahyun," Sana mumbled. She got up and began folding the blanket as fast as she could, willing herself not to cry for the girl behind her.
"Sana. Please. Let me talk—"
"You talked enough a year ago," Sana coldly said.
A hand was on her shoulder, soft and warm. Sana quickly brushed it off and finished folding the blanket. She's not gonna cry, she wouldn't dare, not now, not in front of her.
"I screwed up, Sana," Tzuyu said, effectively making Sana stop what she was doing.
"Oh, you bet you did," Sana agreed, finally turning to face her ex-girlfriend. She looked up confidentially, doing everything she could not to crumble at the sight of her. Even after a year of being apart, Tzuyu still looked beautiful and amazing to Sana.
"I...I messed up. And I only realized it when you left. You were right. It wouldn't work out with two models, even if we could understand each other's difficulties. I should've kept you and appreciated you more, Sana...I miss you."
Sana glanced at Dahyun, who held the blanket and slowly shook her head.
"Well, it's good to realize how dumb you were," Sana said. "And I appreciate you telling me, but I've got to go. See ya."
Sana turned to walk away, but was stopped with a hand on her wrist. She faced Tzuyu again, seeing the hope and sadness in her eyes. She panicked when she felt her heart began to beat faster, like it did in the beginning of her and Tzuyu's relationship. No. She can't still have feelings...
"I love you, Sana!" Tzuyu declared. Her voice sounded like she was on the verge of tears, and Sana didn't want to see her cry. No matter the wrongs she's done, Sana didn't want to see the younger cry still.
"And I know you still love me," Tzuyu continued. "Please take me back. I was so stupid. I lost the best thing I've ever had. And I won't do it again, I swear! Just...please..."
Tzuyu slowly dropped to her knees, head down, breathing slowly. Sana glanced at Dahyun, who still glared at Tzuyu.
She really shouldn't even consider taking her back. Tzuyu was the one that ended it, not her. But then again, maybe she really has changed and would keep Sana. Maybe treasure her this time.
Sana took a deep breath then sighed. "Tzuyu, I..."
Annnnd that's the epilogue!
I've ended it that way because I wanted to let you guys decide if Sana takes Tzuyu back or not :)
Extremely sorry for the very late update, and for the fact I was gone for so long!
And I was reading through some comments, and just wanted to say a few things:
1) I'm not a TzuKook shipper. Jungkook was only there to be a model, honestly.
2) I don't hate ships outside of groups, like boy groups x girl groups, unless they're shipped for something shallow like "they're both maknaes"!!1! I ship based on their ideal types and if their personalities would really fit and compliment each other :)
3) I think I'm doing SaiDa next??? The comments were all over the place and I don't remember which ship dominated after Michaeng :3
I hope you guys have enjoyed, and don't kill me :D
