Carter was completely unphased by my sudden change. His arms were crossed over his chest and he looked just as mad and determined as he had when he walked in the room. Dean, however, was ready to fight, never losing sight of me in the room.
I knew if I tried going after either of them, they wouldn't hesitate to put me in my place. I had no idea what I was doing. I wasn't about to get myself hurt over this.
I exhaled loudly and jumped up onto the bed. The blankets felt different. They felt softer and fluffier. Luckily, the smell wasn't as bad anymore.
Dean took a step toward me. Carter stuck his hand out to stop him just as a growl escaped my chest.
"It's not worth it." Carter sat down on the floor, resting his back against the dresser. "She's not leaving any time soon. Just wait her out."
He opened his mouth to speak but closed it and took a seat on the floor as well. "It's my bed." He mumbled.
I curled into a ball and put my head on the mattress. I felt calm. I definitely wasn't completely fine but I wasn't about to rip either of them to shreds. So why hadn't I phased back yet? Why was I still a wolf?
When I woke up, I was human again. And I was naked. At least I pulled a blanket over me while I was asleep.
I wrapped the blanket around me and got to my feet. Neither of the boys moved. I left the room and went to Carter's room. I knew they would be pissed if I went to see Gage without them and I didn't want them to not trust me. I grabbed clean clothes and pulled them on, not wanting to be naked around a bunch of guys anymore.
I went into the kitchen and found a bucket of fried chicken that had to be at least a day old. But I was starving and food was food.
Carrying the bucket, I went to the living room and turned the TV on. Several seconds later, I heard Carter and Dean yelling from the room. I rolled my eyes as I waited for them to find me.
Carter ran into the living room, heading for the front door, when he spotted me on the couch. He stopped and stared at me before he yelled back at Dean, "She's out here!"
Dean came out and locked gazes with me. Then a grin spread on his face. "I always knew you were one of us." He sat down beside me and grabbed a chicken leg from the bucket.
"You didn't go in there?" Carter asked, running a hand through his hair.
I shook my head. "You told me not to."
"You never listen to me."
"Don't think it's going to be a reoccurring thing. I just wanted to give him time to heal."
He sat down on my other side. "What now then?"
I sighed. "I wanna go to the house. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells here."
"You're not going alone."
I glared at Carter. He wasn't stupid but sometimes he never thought before he spoke. "Well duh. You guys are coming with me."
"Normally I'd be all for a threesome but this is a little too much for me." Dean said.
Carter leaned behind me and smacked Dean in the head. "Dude, that's sick."
"You're telling me."
I passed Dean the bucket of chicken and got to my feet. "Let's go. I really want to put my own clothes on."
Carter got to his feet. "Stay here."
I wasn't a child. I was just... a werewolf who didn't have a clue what she was doing.
