Chapter One
Just an average Gentlemen
It was about three in the morning and Marc was in line for those new J’s he’s been waiting for, for months. He was looking around and there was a huge line in front of him as well in the back. “Sorry.” said a little sweet voice. “It’s cool.” He said. He was too tired to even care. Finally the doors opened and a whole bunch of sneaker heads started pushing and shoving.
“Next.” said the sales man. Finally, Marc thought. “Oh wow it’s the last one.” said the man with the really bad acne. “Aw damn.. are you serious? I’ve been waiting in line for forever.” said this girl. Marc turned around and she had long wavy brown hair, wearing glasses, a beanie, a blue sweater, leggings, uggs and definitely one of the cutest girls Marc’s ever seen “I’ve been waiting too, if you haven’t noticed.” he took is wallet out going through some bills. “Oh c’mon, be a gentlemen.” Then that hit Marc, he thought why not be a gentlemen this once it’ll probably give him a good reputation. Other people started leaving since there really wasn’t a point of staying any longer. “Do you want it?” he asked. Her tired gloomy face turned into a glow. “Really?!” She asked. Marc held out the box of J’s forcing a smile trying not to make it faker than it really was. “Oh my God.” she grabbed the box and Marc just left without even saying anything because he was too tired to think.
He finally got home threw his shoes and hoddie off and jumped right into bed. He couldn’t get his mind off that girl’s face. She was just too cute. But he was like whatever about it because he thought he would never see her again ever anyways.
He woke up with his two adorable little cousins Sophie and Stephanie, jumping on his bed trying to wake him. “Just what I needed with just two hours of sleep.” He said sarcastically. “C’mon babies.” he grabbed the little one and held the other one’s hand as they walked downstairs. “Seriously Marc, we thought you were never going to wake up.” His brother Mike said.
“Dude, I barley got two hours of sleep why you guys trippin’.”
“Sounds like you got those J’s last night.”
“Nah I was one of the last people.. so it was a waste of time.”
“Aw dude that sucks.”
“Eh it’s whatever”
Marc walked into the study hall and went on the internet. He had a conversation with his one of his best friends Jill. She was her usual self when he told her about “being a gentlemen” she was giving him props and sounded so proud of him. He also went on twitter and tweeted. “Wow could have gotten those J’s today but I decided to be a gentlemen and give it to someone else. #BredXI” He clicked on the little hashtag link and saw some familiar faces he saw last night “Huh?” he saw this girl that looked exactly like the girl he saw from last night. He clicked on her twitter and her most recent tweet was “Finally got those J’s I’ve been waiting for, for forever. I could have not gotten them if it wasn’t for this really cute guy that decided to be a gentlemen :) #BredXI” He started blushing and smiling like an idiot. Her name was Danielle Dela Cruz(@DannieDC). He followed her without even thinking twice like he would normally. He hopped off his Mac and went on his X-box.
His phone buzzed.
DM from @DannieDC: Hey! You’re that guy that gave me the last pair I wanted :) I thought I’d never see you again.
He smiled and didn’t want to reply so instant and seem desperate so he waited about ten minutes.
DM from @marcfuxwidit: HEY yeah it’s me ahaha. Nice to meet you, Danielle Dela Cruz :)
She replied almost instantly.
DM from @DannieDC: Haha nice to meet you Marc Wong! You really showed you gentlemen self this morning :) Oh and where are you from?
DM from @marcfuxwidit: I was kinda hoping that you would share though :( I’m from Kent, where are you from?
DM from @DanielleDC: Haha sure I guess. I’m from Tukwila!
DM from @marcfuxwidit: I mean it’s the least you can do right, since I WAS being all gentlemen like and all haha. What school?
DM from @DannieDC: LOL okay nice guy. I go to Foster how about you?
DM from @marcfuxwidit: HEY you’re lucky we’re not at the shoe store anymore or else I would change my mind instantly. I go to Kent-Meridian.
DM from @DannieDC: HAHA I was kidding, I would LOVE to share with you Mr. Wong ;) OH you probably know my cousin then? Are you a junior?
DM from @marcfuxwidit: Then we have no other choice than to hang out again? :) OH? Who’s you’re cousin? Yes I am, and i’m guessing you are too?
DM from @DannieDC: No duh :P and Jill? Yes I am ahaha.
“SHE KNOWS JILL?! WHAT THE FUCK. JILL HAS SOME HOT COUSINS.” He thought.
DM from @marcfuxwidit: JILL?! WHAT THE HELL? Small fuckin world dude. She’s my biffle LOL. And you chose a place and time, cause i’m pretty indecisive.
DM from @DannieDC: WHAT!? You’re lying.. and uhm why won’t we go see a movie tomorrow around.. 6? I’ll pick you up :)
DM from @marcfuxwidit: NO i’m not lying LOL i’m being serious. You drive? You’re picking me up? That’s embarrassing :(
DM from @DannieDC: Omg I just texted her and wtf. I like driving! So it’s okay LOL.
DM from @marcfuxwidit: Damn, small world dude. And wow I guess it runs in the family cause Jill loves cars.
DM from @DannieDC: LOL I know this is so weird. And yeah well it’s just me and her so yeah.
DM from @marcfuxwidit: Haha it is. So I guess it’s a date? :)
DM from @DannieDC: What’s your number?
DM from @marcfuxwidit: (206)-123-4567 call me maybe? LOL jk.
There were no further replies for the past hour. Marc kept checking every 15 minutes or so but there weren’t any. He was laying in bed. “Do I really have a date with Jill’s cousin? Or was it a joke cause now she’s not replying.” he said to himself. His phone buzzed and made him flinch. It was a weird looking number. He thought it was one of Jill’s fake weird numbers so he answered. “Hello?” He said. No reply. “Hello?” he said again. He hung up and waited about 30 minutes and called the number again. “Hello?” A little small cute voice said. “Hello? Did you call this number earlier?” He asked. “Oh yeah, sorry my signal was being crappy so I decided to go to sleep. Oh and it’s Danielle.”
“Oh. Hi.. sorry do you want to go back to sleep?”
“No it’s fine.” She giggled.
“No it’s okay.. you can uh.. go back to.. sleep.”
“Stop.” she said “I’m not going to die for staying up and wanting to talk to you.” she giggled. She did have a point Marc thought.
“Okay.. so?” he asked. She giggled. He loved that sound. He felt like he was laying right next to her. He grabbed a pillow for a substitute to making him feel lonely.
“What are you doing?” She asked. “Laying in bed, you?”
“Me too.” she giggled again.
“You’re so cute” Marc chuckled.
“You’re not so bad yourself, want to play twenty questions?”
“Sure okay.”
Three hours passed and it was about four in the morning, they were still on the phone and Danielle sounded so tired. “Want to go to bed?” Marc asked. “No.” She said. He didn’t mind. He felt like a happy kid. It’s been a while since he’s talked to someone like this or felt this way about anyone. He fell asleep knowing that she was 16, her birthday was on Valentines day, people called her “Dannie” (explains her twitter name) she was born in the Philippines, loves penguins, likes the color red, one parent which was her dad because her mom died when she was just a little girl, one older brother, has a sneaker collection and is pretty good friends with Jill also. “I hope this works out..” He said as he knew Dannie was asleep on the other line.
