Chapter Thirteen

3,2,1

The doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Marc yelled and ran to the door.

"Merry Christmas!" Dannie jumped on him. She was wearing her red and green flannel shirt with a cute little Santa hat. They were both matching. Marc's little cousins started running up to her with their cute little Santa outfits and hugged her. "Is she your boyfriend?" Sophie asked in Chinese. Marc laughed, and Dannie picked Stephanie up and carried her to the kitchen where the whole family was. The dads were in the living room watching sports, and the moms were in the kitchen cooking so much food. "Hi sweetie want to help us cook some food?" Marc's mom asked. "Sure." She smiled and out Stephanie on her feet and walked next to Marc's mom. Marc followed her into the kitchen "Marc! Go help daddy with other things, i'm not gonna steal her away." Marc's mom said. Dannie laughed and gave him a nod and thumbs up.

Dannie was putting stuff away in the closet, then Marc grabbed her and ran up stairs. "Hey! They'll be suspissious that we're gone." She whispered. He guided her upstairs in his room and locked it. He hugged her. "I've been wanting to hold you ever since you got here but.. that would be awkward." He said. She kissed him. "Merry Christmas." Marc said. "So this is where you sleep?" She looked around. "Kinda." He laughed.

Everyone was downstairs opening presents. Marc got money as usual. Then he took off the necklace he's never taken off before. "Marc." Dannie looked shocked. "Turn around." He said. She did and he put it around her neck. "Why?" She turned around and touched the neckalace. "Well, it's been my lucky charm ever since, and you're the luckiest thing that's ever happened to me." He said. She started tearing up. "You're such a corny guy you know that right?" She said. "Whatever." He hugged her. "You lucky goose." Mike said. Dannie laughed.

Marc and Dannie were sitting on the curb together in front of Marc's house star gazing. "I can't wait till New Years eve, you get to meet my family." She smiled. Marc looked at her, he noticed that whenever there were stars in the sky, she never took her eyes off of them. "What are you thinking about?" Marc asked. "Everything." She said

"Babe?" Marc said.

"Yeah?"

"I've noticed that you always get hypnotised by the stars in the sky every time we stargaze."

"Really?" She looked at him.

"Kinda." He tilted his head.

"Hey I forgot, I have something for you." She digged in her pocket, and Marc leaned in to see.

"Really? What is-" Marc got cut off from Dannie's kiss and she ran off like a little kid. Marc laughed and chased after her. He finally caught up to her, and clinged on to her from behind.

"Ah! Let me go!" She laughed. "Never!" He rubbed his face into her hair. She turned around and they kissed passionatly in the snowy night under the a tree filled with Christmas lights.

After Dannie left back home Marc was now playing with his two little cousins. "Marc you please come in here?" His mom yelled. Marc ran in the garage. "Happy late birthday!" His dad screamed. "Mom, dad. You didn't.." He looked at the car, it was a BMW e46 M3. "How did you know I learned how to drive stick?" He asked. "Dannie told me a couple days ago and told me you were the one driving her everywhere with her own car. So why not just get you one?" His dad said. Marc jumped in the driver's seat and switched it on. "Oh yuuuuuuuup." He smiled so big. "It's a late birthday present. Because we weren't in town to celebrate it with you this year." His dad smiled. "How does he get stick, and I don't?" Mike asked. "Do you know how?" His mom laughed. Mike turned red and went back inside.

It was 9:00pm on New Years eve and Marc was drving up to Jill's house because that's where Dannie's family party was. Marc was glad that he was best friends with Jill. When Marc got there he parked by a new by park and walked in the front door.

"Hi Marc!" Jill said.

"Where's Dannie?" Marc asked.

"Oh, she's up stairs wanna come?"

"Sure."

They both walked up stairs to Jill's room and everyone was playing the x-box. Marc spotted Dannie and looked like she was kicking ass. Typical Dannie. It made him laugh.

It was about 11:30 and their whole family drove up to Alki, where they all could watch the fire works explode out of the space needle. It was also a family tradition to light up sprinklers and just have fun. Marc and Dannie wondered off and walked to a perfect view of the space needle. Dannie was sitting in between his legs on the the grass. Dannie looked up to him. "I've never had a New Years kiss, have you?" She asked. "I've had a Valentines kiss.. does that kinda count?" He asked. She giggled. "Kisses are meant to be given on Valentines day." She adjusted herself so that they were both comfortable. Marc kissed her. "It's Valentines year round, when I'm with you." He smiled. "Isn't it supposed to be Christmas?" She corrected him. "Okay miss 'know-it-all' it could be whatever you want it to be." He teased. "I think i'm falling for you Marc Wong." She looked up at him. He smiled and kissed her. "You think? I know you do babe." He laughed. "Oh whatever." She turned away from him, and he held her tighter. "It's a minute till twelve!" She got up on her feet and dragged Marc along with her. Marc took a fortune cookie out of his pocket, and handed it to Dannie. "My family and I always had a tradition on new years, to open our fortune cookies and see what this year has instored for all of us." He said. He took his out as well. they cracked them opened together. Dannie's said "A wonderful guy 'Marc' is willing to take good care of you. Will you be his girlfriend?" She looked up at him and.. didn't say anything. Marc was confused. "Dannie?" He looked at her. But she just stared straight into his eyes. "3,2,1" Everyone around them said, and the fireworks began "Yes!" She jumped into his arms and they both shared their first New Years kiss.

"You killed me for like, three seconds." He held her in his arms.

"I was waiting until it was officially the New Year, so you know. Fresh Start!" She said.

"Oh, I literally was going to die."

Dannie laughed. "Wait.. what does your cookie say?" She stuffed the cookie in her mouth.

Marc handed it to her and he ate his own as well, it said. "Take good care of her son. -Mommy."

"Aw that's so cute!!" She said. Marc took it from her and read it.

"Hey! I told my mom to put 'you'll be getting a awesome girlfriend this year' what a lier."

Dannie giggled. "You're mom's so adorable." Marc kissed her as everyone around them watched the fireworks.

It was about 1:30am and Jill wanted to drive Marc's new BMW so he let her as Marc and Dannie both sat in the back. It was a quiet car ride home as Jill played Christmas music and Dannie fell asleep on his shoulder still holding his hand. Marc layed his head on top of hers and he drifted to sleep.
