When Angelica awoke she couldn't help smiling at the first face she saw. The concern etched across his face for her was almost too much for her to handle.

"Hey," she mumbled as she squinted and fumbled to sit up in her bed.

"How are you feeling?" Michael asked moving closer to her. His smell did things to her that she couldn't explain. She closed her eyes and inhaled deeply. When she opened them she said, "I'm fine now that you're here."

Michael swallowed deeply before speaking. "Good. Do you remember what happened?"

"Kinda. One minute Roman and I were dancing and the next I was out."

"It wasn't Roman. It was a dark elf posing as Roman."

"What the heck is a dark elf? I thought elves were cute and friendly."

"No, these are another of your father's evil creations. They were created to resemble innocents, but that didn't work as planned. Their red eyes, pointy ears and dark skin give them away. Like the witches they have magical powers. They usually tend to stay in wooded or forest areas, but it seems your presence has drawn them out of hiding."

"Ugh FML!" Angelica yelled jumping out of bed.

"I don't understand what that means?" Michael said confused.

"It means my life is screwed. All I want to do is go to school! That's it. Is that too much to ask?"

Connie burst into her room. "Oh honey you're awake!" She grabbed Angelica in a big hug before she could resist. "Are you alright?"

"Yes, I'm fine," Angelica said rolling her eyes and shrugging out of Connie's arms.

"Are you sure?" Connie asked giving Michael a questioning look.

"I just want to be normal like everybody else Connie."

"I know, but you aren't like everybody else honey and that's okay. You just have to accept your life and deal with it. We want you to be able to go to school and hang out with your friends, but you have to let Michael do his job. That means no wondering off with your friends by yourself."

Angelica looked at Michael with a guilty look. "Sorry, I didn't want to betray Roman's trust."

"I understand," Michael said. "But I need for you to understand when it comes to your well-being I don't care about Roman or anyone else....just you."

"Right," murmured Angelica. There was an uncomfortable silence as she and Michael both stared at each other with unspoken questions neither were brave enough to ask. The truth was she had told him to stay outside when she and Roman had gone in the lounge because she'd wanted to make him jealous. She had wanted him to feel something for her like she did for him. Had it worked?

Connie cleared her throat reminding them of her presence. "Angelica, get something to eat and do your homework. Thank the Creator , Gabriel didn't pull you out of school because I have a feeling it will be very interesting tomorrow."

Angelica wasn't surprised when Connie rode to school with her and Michael the next day. With the attack and Connie's cryptic foreshadowing she expected her to be around. Even Michael seemed to be in an unusually happy mood. He was doing something Angelica had never heard him do before, whistle. She was dying to know what was going on.

"So, you wanted to hang out with the teens today Connie?" Angelica pried.

"Just for a little bit. I have some unfinished business to handle."

Angelica ignored Connie's even more cryptic answer when she saw Roman and Nala waiting for her. She quickly pushed away the first thought that entered her mind. Is that really them?
