Danny POV....

My eyes snapped open, power surging through me. Changing me. My knees gave out and I could feel every molecule supercharging.

"Just a bit longer, Danny." My father, Vlad Masters, told me from a few feet away. Vlad was six foot five with long grey hair and a short goatee. His perfectly tailored black suit cling to his human form and he looked perfectly composed, despite the bead of sweat that rolled down his cheek.

Finally the energy subsided and I fell unconscious.

Vlad POV....

Danny finally fell unconscious, the energy bonding having been performed safely.

I had created a machine to give Danny similar powers to myself, but I didn't want him suffering the bonding process for years as I had. I'm uncertain of the limitations he will have, as his powers shall be different from my own from the different ectoplasmic bonding process.

I walked over to my son and focused my powers, levitating him up to my arms and then carrying him upstairs.

My mind was filled with memories of him as a baby, he had always slept the same. A small smile graced my lips as I stepped into his room and laid him on his bed.

"Goodnight Daniel, when you wake up...you'll be more unique than any other human." I told him, "I love you, son."

Danny POV...

"Again."

I breathed out, exhaustion evident. Father had been teaching me to transform into my ghost form and back human.

After a dozen tries or so, I learned to grip the energy inside me and bring it out to the surface.

A set of rings appeared and traveled the length of my body, changing me to ghost form.

Normally I had shaggy black hair, blue eyes, and whatever clothes I had on(most likely jeans, red sneakers, and a plain t-shirt). In my ghost form my hair turned white, eyes turned glowing electric green, and a black and white suit appeared over my body. The suit had been made by my father to function like living tissue and keep me either warm or cool in extreme temperatures.

I nodded at my father, pulling the energy to the surface in an instant, turning into my ghost form.

My father nodded. "Next you'll need to learn to fight with your new much stronger and more powerful body." Two black rings travelled the length of his body and he transformed.

His transformation turned his hair black, his eyes red, and his skin blue and almost demonic looking. His ears pointed and his teeth sharpened. He now wore a white cloak and black boots and gloves. "Hit me."

I knew better than to ask questions, so I threw a punch, only to pass right through him and he turned and kicked my back hard enough to send me tumbling across the ground.

"Hit me." He repeated, then put his hands behind his back.

I shoved myself to my feet and went to charge, but he turned invisible and a palm strike to my chest knocked me onto my back. I was dizzy but rolled backwards to avoid a powerful stomp from my now visible father. The stomp cracked the floor.

I thought fast and focused, willing myself to become invisible.

Father was on me in a second, throwing a massive punch as I tried to become invisible.

I failed...in a good way. My body became intangible and his fist passed through, I jumped behind him and threw a punch into his ribs, budging him only slightly. His arm swung out and caught me in the cheek, sending me flying back.

That's how we trained for my two month off summer vacation. By the time school started, I was good enough to control my abilities and not fall through the floor again.

Sitting in class, i drummed my fingers along the surface of my wooden desk. Suddenly I felt a tingle in my spine and the temperature dropped enough for me to see my breath for a moment.

I raised my hand, "May I go to the bathroom?" Mr. Jones glanced up, and pointed to the door.

I jogged out the door and once in the hall I looked around for anyone. When I knew no one was there I transformed into my ghost form, ready to fight.

Suddenly a body slammed into my back, carrying me towards one end of the hall.

I turned us intangible just before we crashed into the wall and then flipped us once we were outside. I hurled the attacking ghost towards the football field.

The ghost was seven foot tall, had a white bone-like mask and his body was made of black matter.

It roared and the stadium lights exploded. Then it raised its hands over its head and gathered green energy, then threw it at me.

The beam of bright green energy raced towards me so I turned intangible.

It hit me anyway, surprising me and knocking me out of the sky.

I slammed into the grass and turned to see the ghost flying towards me.

I had seen my father fire similar blasts of energy, so I copied what I had seen. I focused the energy inside me to move to my palm and threw out a blast that slammed into the ghosts face, cracking its mask.

Then I flew back to class at top speed, both invisible and intangible, and grabbed my Ghost Capture Device. A small round disc that fit into my palm. Then flew back out as the ghost pulled itself up to its feet.

I flew in at just over a hundred miles an hour and threw my shoulder into it, then aimed my GCD at the ghost and a beam of blue energy hit the ghost, then sucked it into the device.
