I found myself in a prison, I assumed it was elven because of the stench, I had been stripped of all of my belongings, covered in rough prison garb and tossed into a cell. I don't know how long it had been since I had been attacked, but my stomach was rumbling and I felt weak. The first sounds I heard were foot steps, they were clad in chainmail, probably guards. I thought nothing of them, and I immediately started looking around. A hay cot, a small hole in the floor, and a barred door, like a big cage. There was no light, but I could still see.
The steps came to the forefront of my mind again when I heard them growing closer, and slightly more rapid. An elvish male swung my cage door open and three armed guards came in, one kicked me in the head and the other two used nooses on poles to grasp my wrists and pin them to the floor. Then a woman came in, and looked down on me, almost with pity.
"Avoider, what is your name?" She looks down again, locking eyes with me. I spit in her general direction, the tertiary guard kicks me in the head again, cusses in elvish then loads for another kick, leaving me enough time to sputter out my name in my native tongue. She looked away, taking something from the guards, then tossing the medals from the officers I had killed.
"Where did you come across these?" she asked, and naturally, I responded with something like "On a couple of bloody corpses." Needless to say the guard kicked me again. "Listen, if you're going to kill me, can you do it quicker? This man doesn't kick nearly hard enough to make any progress." I said, and she looked amused. "We have no intention of killing you, we've already slaughtered your friends, family, and everyone else in your village, we're just going to be getting rid of you." She cast a paralytic spell on me, and I was unconscious yet again. I remember waking for periods of time, I remember a cart, a few men speaking, and a girl, young, all on the cart with me. I heard the sound of money being passed, then I blacked out again.
I came to again, what I had determined to be slavers had just brought food and some water back to us, and I had yet to awake by then, so the girl took my food. Not in a bad way, actually, it was nice, she rubbed my scaly chin and said something I didn't understand, when I came to, she handed me the water, so I could drink, then the bread, so I could eat. something struck me as off about her, then it struck me, she was an elf. All feuds aside, I'd need friends, by her near emaciated look, she'd been around the block a few times. I was going to escape this, but I'd need her.
