Of Shadow and Light

Of shadow and light the world’s split in two

Of shadow and light the Earth stars anew.

The light of day: so bright, so pure

The light of day: refined and demure

So different it seems from the darkness of night.

So far from the same; both the dark and the light.

The shadows of night stretch long on the ground.

The shadows of night grow without sound.

A world divided by a significant line.

One for the damned; one for divine.

The question I pose now for your ears,

Is which is the side that shatters man’s years?

The light that hides the truth of the world,

Or the dark that covers the world in the cold?

Both lie and hide what should be true.

Think now, my friends, on which side are you?
