Robin and Julien had been married for two years now and the couple were ready to make a big decision.
"So what are you looking for in a child?" The adoption agent asked.
"Preferably a girl. One that's outgoing." Julien answered.
"One with big dreams we won't let anyone crush." Robin quipped.
"And around what age?"
Robin and Julien looked at each other.
"Uh... 8 and under would be fine." Julien answered.
"Then I believe we have the daughter for you and your husband!" The agent said cheerfully. She pressed a button and said: "Please have Alice come down to the office."
Robin and Julien squeezed hands.Just about 5 minutes later a little brown haired girl walked into the room.
"You called me, Ms. Green?" She quipped.
"That I did Alice. This couple may want to adopt you!" Ms. Green smiled.
Robin and Julien turned to face her.
"Hi there, I'm Julien, and this is Robin." Julien greeted.
"I'm Alice." She replied.
Robin smiled.
"Why are your hairs colored?" Alice asked.
"We really like these colours so we decided to change our hair to it." Robin shrugged.
"I wish I could do that!" Alice said, excitedly.
"And what color would you change your hair to?" Julien asked.
"Green!" Alice exclaimed.
Robin and Julien laughed.
"Are you two married?"
"Yep." Robin answered. "For 2 years now!"
"That's why we're here. We want to have a kid to love and cherish together." Julien said.
"Me?" Alice asked.
"Well what do you say, do you want two dads?" Julien countered.
"It's up to you sweet pea." Robin interjected.
"Two daddy's?" Alice thought for a second. "Yes!"
The two men sighed with relief.
"Then it's settled. We'll have Alice ready tomorrow evening at 12:30. Does that work with you?" The agent quipped.
"It most certainly does!" Robin answered.
"Great!"
"We'll see you tomorrow Alice okay?" Julien said turning his attention back to her.
"Okay," She hugged Julien, "Thanks for adopting me." She whispered.
"Of course, it's our pleasure."
Alice squealed. "I'm so excited!"The next day came with ease. Robin and Julien signed the adoption papers and hauled Alice off to their home.
"Alice, have you ever had cold stone?" Robin asked.
"No." Alice answered, shaking her head.
"Well you will today!" Julien beamed.
"What is it?"
"Cold stone is an Ice cream shop." Robin quipped.
Alice's eyes lit up. "I haven't had ice cream since last month! I love it so so much!"
"That's great, 'cause so do we!" Julien laughed.
"After ice cream, we're gonna go shopping, how does that sound?" Robin smiled.
"I've never been shopping." Alice confessed.
"New experiences we'll get to share with you. I'm so excited!" Julien exclaimed.
They pulled into the Coldstone parking lot.
Everyone unbuckled and got out of the car.
"It's cold in here." Alice quipped.
"It has to be, or else all the ice cream would melt, and there'd be nothing for us to eat." Julien explained.
Alice nodded.
"What do you want to eat sweetie? Anything your heart desires." Julien said.
"Cookie dough!" Alice answered.
"Awesome choice, I like cookie dough too." Robin said.
"You do?!" Alice replied.
"Sure do, it's the best!"
"Eh, I'll stick with chocolate and Reese's." Julien shrugged.
"You so that Joo Joo Berry, me and Alice will eat our cookie dough in peace."
Robin and Alice giggled away. They got their Ice cream and sat at a booth table.
A boy and a girl sat at the booth table across from them.
Robin just happened to glance over. His eyes widened.
"Psst, Julien! Does that kid over there look familiar?" Robin asked.
Julien looked over at them. His eyes widened as well. "Mikey was it?" Julien whispered.
Robin nodded.
"Oh my God." Julien said covering his mouth.
"After all these years." Robin chuckled.
"Who's Mikey?" Alice asked.
"He's a kid we ran into a couple years ago, before Robin and I were married." Julien answered.
"His mom was a little homophobic, and kinda told us off. Then a bunch of people told us they had our back." Robin explained smiling.
"W- what is homophobic?" Alice asked.
"When you don't really support or like the idea of guys being with guys, or girls being with girls."
"Oh." Alice whispered. "That's mean."
"It was." Julien nodded.
Mikey glanced over at them.
Robin and Julien just happened to look at the same time.
Their eyes met.
Mikey said something to the girl then walked over to Robin and Julien's booth.
"Hi." Mikey greeted.
"Hiya!" Julien replied.
"Dairy Queen?" Mikey hinted.
The boys nodded.
"Look, I want to apologize about my mom. She was being dumb as per usual. She can be pretty judgmental towards things she doesn't understand." Mikey explained.
"It's fine." Robin shrugged.
"Are you sure, cause it makes me embarrassed to know that my mom did that."
"Nope we're good." Julien smiled.
"I see you still have the hair thing going on, and you're still together." Mikey examined.
"I told you I wish he were my husband, and now he is."
"You proposed!" Mikey beamed.
"Believe it or not, Robin did." Julien smiled.
"Jeez, Julien..." Robin groaned.
"He's just a little bit embarrassed that's all." Julien laughed.
Mikey laughed.
"So is that your girlfriend?" Robin asked.
Mikey turned red. "Yes actually, her name is Lilly."
"Hmm..." Julien said thinking.
"MILEY!" The two men exclaimed.
"Shhh, no it's Lilly."
"We know, we just have you a ship name is all." Robin explained.
"Oh." Mikey laughed. "Well, uh, hope I see you again... There's a small child right there."
"Wanna say hi Alice?" Robin suggested.
"Hi." Alice greeted.
"Adopted?" Mikey guessed.
Robin nodded.
"Well hello there, I'm Mikey."
"She's pretty timid." Julien said.
"It was cool seeing you again."
"Likewise." The men said.
"Hope to see you again soon." He said walking back to his table.
"He seemed nice." Alice quipped.
"He was nice." Robin beamed.
