Time slowly ticks by as i'm patiently waiting for class to end. Don't get me wrong, i love learning as much as the next girl, but there is no way i'm going to use this crap when i graduate.
I'm in my most dreaded class again, Math. Seriously, i don't get it. Numbers everywhere, add this, divide that. It's boring and i'm sure as hell not going to use it.
"Negative twenty six over three plus one and one third divided by thirty six...." And I just kinda zoned out from there. I glance at the person beside my, Liz, who's busy taking notes while being poked by Paul, her boyfriend.
They've been together for two months now and honestly, i'm so happy for her. She looks so happy whenever he's with her. Same thing goes for him, head over heels for her. It sorta makes me wonder when i'll find mine.
But anyway, I'm really only after one guy. But this guy barely notices me, so that's that. And add the fact that he's way out of my league and , like any cliché love story, my total opposite.
An all too familliar voice echoes through my reverie. "I'm sorry Sir, but the answer is 2.03345 not 2.03342." I quickly glance at the golden boy two chairs behind me.
There he is, Cole Ashen. The boy whom i've literally had a crush on since i first saw him walking down the halls when we were still freshmen. God, he's even cuter today than he was three years ago. British Boy-next-door mixed with a bit of smartass (emphasize on smart) combined with quiet rebelion not to mention Goddamn athletic side.
And
he has
Abs.
Praise Jesus.
First off all, he's tall. As if that isn't a turn on already. Cole plays badminton, is a member of the school's soccer, basketball and swim teams. He's also running for valedictorian this year but it doesn't look like he's putting much effort in his schoolwork. A walking timebomb with blonde hair and blue eyes.
I must've been staring too long because Mr. Dillon, Our math teacher, said in a rather loud voice, "Ms. Jean! Perhaps you'd like to explain how Mr. Ashen came upon his conclusion?" I could feel his eyes burn through my skull as I reluctantly rose from my seat.
"Ummm....." Oh my god. Could this be more embarassing? This is one of thr disadvantages of having a crush on a smart guy, i can't impress him with my limited knowledge about Inspirational quotes, financial and self help books.
The bells rings, thank God, signaling the end of another friday. Students hurriedly grab their bags and scurry out of the room as fast as they can but Cole looks like he has other plans. He goes towards Mr. Dliion's desk and leans on it with his arms crossed. Damn.
I grab my bag as I wait for Liz to put her notebooks in hers. "Hey you busy tonight?" Liz asks me. "Yeah, My Da--" I was rudely cut off by Mr. Dillon's frustrated voice. "Ms. Freidster, May i speak with you for a minute?" I glance at Liz with annoyance. "Looks like you'll have to go without me." I eye her boyfriend with suspicion. "You better take good care of her." He laughs and puts his arms around her then plants a light kiss on her cheek. "Will do. C'mon baby." Liz giggles in response. "Bye Jean!" She waves and I watch their retreating backs as they head out leaving me with Cole and Mr. Dillion.
I turn around and I'm not a fan of what i see. A very hot boy and a very hot headed teacher. i approach Mr. Dillion and in a girlie tone, "Yes sir?" Mr. Dillion sighs in frustration. "Ms. Freidster, I don't particularly like the way you've been slacking off these past few days."
It is my fault that i'm literally in the same space as my favorite boy? I can't help being inevitably distracted. But he has a point though. "I just can't quite get it, Mr. Dillon. Sometimes i do, sometimes i don't. That's me." I see Cole tilt his head from the side as if he's not quite getting what i'm saying.
"Well, I don't handle low scores in my class well. That's why i've assigned Mr. Ashen here to tutor you throughout the whole school year." I was about to open my mouth when he added "And i've already informed you're parents. You'll be pleased to know that they agreed to this as well."
I internally groaned. Not my parents, Being the only and oldest girl among two other boy siblings, they can be a little overprotective.
Okay, alot protective. My father's an american and works as a crime scene investigator, more or less investigator. My mother's a filipina business woman in real estate. Both of them are originally from The Philippines but migrated here after deciding that they wanted to raise a family abroad.
I eventually agreed with Mr. Dillon. As much as i hated his subject, i could feel that he was tired and ready to go home. "Will that be all sir?" I asked Mr. Dillon. He nodded. "Yes." He rose from his seat. "I have to go home and arrange some travel documents that i need for a teacher's conference this weekend. See you on Monday. "
"Bye sir." I hurriedly grab my bag without sneaking a glance at Cole and almost run out of the room. Soon i found myself outside of school and onto the wet pavement. It just finished raining as the smell of petrichor was still fresh. I glance at my watch. 3:45pm.
"Jean!" I hear footsteps come behind me. *Wow* His golden hair swaying as he's running towards me is quite the sight. "Hey" He says in that deep, British voice thaat sent shivers down my back.
"Hi" I say almost breatheless. *please god i hope he didn't notice* He chuckled. *he did. Of course* "Hey, Mr. Dillon told me to tell you that the tutoring starts immediately after school on Monday. So, what time should i come over?"
I glanced down at my worn white converse. "4:30 sound good?" I can't quite keep still with him staring at me with those blue orbs.
He smiled. "Awesome." A black BMW 6 series grand coupe honks it's horn. "Well I gotta go, see ya monday?" He asks. Who could say no to that? I smiled. "Yeah, Monday."
