Acacia

Kevin and I stood across from each other. I was trying to get him to break, but he just wouldn't. It was nearly impossible.

"I'm not going to force you to stay. You knew where my mind was when we first started this. It's not my fault that you believe you can change that. We're just not on the same wavelength", he shrugged. I felt the tears come to my eyes.

"So who's fault is it? Because all of a sudden you don't remember telling me you love me? Or that you saw a future with me? I didn't just make this up in my head Kevin", I exclaimed. All of a sudden he was acting different. As if I'm the crazy one. As if I'm the one at fault.

"Look, I'm single. So for you to be tripping out like this is ridiculous", he turned away from me. I tried so hard not to let the tears fall, but to no avail. It hurt that it had to come to this. I was finally seeing his true colors. He never loved me. Everything he ever said was a lie. Everything he did.

"I guess you're single. And I'm not leaving. I've paid as much bills in this house as you have. You can get to stepping if you'd like", I concluded aloud proceeding to unpack my things.

He stood in silence and watched.

Two weeks later, he apologized. I forgave him. Exactly like I've been doing for the past year.

I guess I'm just hoping things will change.

This is me taking a step away from my normal style of writing. I usually write about things I can relate to (i.e., high school, sports, teenage related things, etc.). Here I'll be writing about things I WANT to relate to(i.e., living alone, having a full time job, being rich, etc.).
