All through my life
I felt something was missing
A gaping void which left my heart feeling empty
A perennial thorn in my side
I coasted through this muddy hazeAlways longing, forever entreating
For this hole to one day be suffused
I had almost given up
Thinking that amour had passed me by
But one day, a beam of light penetrated my gloomMy spirit rose like a phoenix from the ashes
Your remarkable portrait filled my world
And altered it forever
Petrified by thy glittering eyes
Enchanted by thy grin
Your love's pulchritude filled me with a great passionLeaving me short-winded and feeble
Yet filled with a pure wonder
And a knowing
That you were my soulmate
Consigned down by the stars themselves
To ignite a flame in my lour, darkened world
Breaking all my perceptions of amourAnd urfurling up an existence I never dreamed of
One I want to share only with you
Until the end of time.©Simran Jolly
