Chapter 2: Ranmaru and Ai

A young silver-haired male with mismatched eyes smirked as he strummed his fingers rapidly against the strings of his guitar, producing a soulful rock number.

Meanwhile, another male, with blue-hued hair was sat on a chair with his hand under his chin, intently listening to the song being produced.

After a few seconds, the silver-haired male strummed his final note and let out a small gasp as he felt the vibrations of his guitar through his fingers.

"These vibrations... so... intense."

The younger blue-haired male tilted his head to the side as he spoke with a gentle tone.

"It seems that your overall rhythm and pitch have improved by 98.6%."

The silver-haired male made a small grunting sound as he turned to the blue-haired male and smirked.

"It is to be expected from my guitar... I adjusted it recently so now the music I produce from it will be superior!"

Ai shook his head slightly and tilted his head to the side, giving him a somewhat stern expression.

"You must strive for continuous improvement instead of perfection. Perfection is impossible to achieve."

The silver-haired male, named Ranmaru, let out a small sigh as he placed his guitar next to him, leaning it against the wall beside him.

"I guess that's true... sorry, Mikaze."

Ai tilted his head to the side and a small smile soon appeared on his face.

"Humans make mistakes, it is only natural."

Ranmaru nodded his head before standing up from his chair and zipping up his jacket before shoving his hands into the pockets. He turned back to Ai, looking at him with a neutral expression.

"Well, I'm going for a jog... you coming?"

Ai shook his head as he turned in his chair, facing back to his computer screen and music equipment.

"I am currently in the middle of making a new composition so I'm afraid I will have to give it a miss this time."

Ranmaru jogged a bit on the spot as he nodded once again before holding his hand up to Ai as a farewell gesture and opening the door.

"That's fine, I'll see ya later."

"Hai."

Ai nodded also as he placed his headphones over his ears and continued to work on his piece after the door had closed.

Ranmaru panted as he jogged at a steady pace around a large field. As he reached the halfway mark, he stopped and keeled over as he placed his hands on his knees and wiped the sweat from his forehead.

"Huff, huff..."

The silver-haired male continued to pant as he looked down at his sports-watch, checking his progress. He smirked and from the results and leaned against a nearby wall.

"Yes, I've beaten my record today..."

Satisfied with the result, Ranmaru took a swig of his water bottle and squeezed it, causing the water to spray on his face. He sighed from the cool sensation of the water and held his bottle beside him as he took out his phone from his pocket, checking his messages.
