"Matthew!!!!!!!!"

"Ummmmmffff!!!"

The world stopped spinning and the hard floor greeted me with leaves and branches.

"Are you alright?" A deep voice questioned as I groaned loudly. "Sorry about that, I didn't have much time to apparate so I might have miscalculated our destination."

I looked up to find a dark hand with the beautiful blue sleeves falling down to help me up. I took his hand and finally looked at him properly. He must have been twenty or over, his dark blue robes suited his dark coloured skin, he looked like a fresh cold night. His eye looked wise beyond his years but his kind smile betrayed him,it made him look young and joyful. I knew in an instant I could trust him. My feet failed me and tears greeted my eyes. He put a hand on my shoulder to steady me.

"Here it's okay. You might feel a bit dizzy from the apparition."

He was right, my stomach was turned upside down and I has a light headache at the back of my head.

"Matthew..." I choked out, tears threatening to spill.

"I am terribly sorry little girl, but your path is a different one. Leave him to his." His deep soothing voice made me feel warm, and I nodded my head understandingly. I did not. I was too young to understand what he was saying, and my young self did not even cross the thought of never seeing my precious friend again but something about him made me feel safe.

"Where are we?" I asked in a small voice, not daring to raise it. Looking around you could see tall, big green trees and could hear various birds singing a harmonious tune. The wood seemed deep, as far my eyes could see there was only trees and more trees.

"You don't need to worry about child, you will be safe soon. Let's go, we need to head to camp." He smiled widely at me and motioned me to follow.

"Wait, what's your name?" I asked curiously to the tall dark man, with the blue robes.

"Kingsley Shacklebolt."

********

" Hey Kingsley?"

I questioned while walking behind him as we made our way deeper to the woods.

"Yes little girl?"

"What happened back there? What were those lights? What did those words mean? How did we get here?"

He chuckled at my rushed questions but a sudden serious look settled on his face.

"Listen to me carefully now, little girl. There are many things which you won't yet understand and it is not my place explaining the wonders and terrible pains of the world you have been pushed on. But I will tell you this. The gift you have, what you are: Is magic. You shall not take that lightly, little girl. You need to understand it, learn it and never underestimate it."

I listened to those profound words with as much understanding that I could, but the excitement of the word magic blanked the other sentences that followed his speech. "Oh, Matthew would love this!" I thought to myself but soon realised Matthew would never know... I needed him, he was my best friend since birth. We had laughed together, played together, and now... Now he was no more. As Kingsley had said, his path was another.

"Kingsley?"

Kingsley sighed and turned around to face me with a smile on his face.

"What is it, little girl?"

"My name is Lila."

His smile turned into a grin, and laughed.

"Well Lila, what do you say to getting to camp as soon as possible? People are waiting."
