'run rabbit run...'
Perspiration rolled down my cheeks; excruciating pain deepening in my chest as i ran down the road of the isolated street. The thud of my heartbeat was so loud i was sure it could be heard from miles away. Silent shadows stalked the paths between looming houses whose eyes watched as I halted beneath the tower.
Darkness surrounded me and the only light coming from the moon was faint like a silver dying flame. I was running. Why? Because I was hiding. From who? Him. If he finds me, he'll slowly rip my lungs, bathe in my blood, use my skin as a blanket and laugh. How do i know this? Because I've seen him do it before.
i stopped and gasped for air, shaking away the horrifying image, my lungs were burning underneath my pale, ice cold skin. I needed a break. I looked up at the sky, other than the fog shrouding above me, the sky was pitch black, almost as if someone had just painted a paper with the darkest shade of black and stuck it over what was once the baby blue blanket. Was god really lurking beyond that sheet of blackness. I highly doubt it.
Now I only had one thing. Something so precious. Hope.
But how would I escape this? How would I save myself from this torture? Would my knight in shining armour come rescue me? But then again, out of all people I should know happy endings don't exist. certainly not true love. But why did I still wish for it? Maybe-maybe because i deserve it?
I sighed and pushed my stupid thoughts away. Forcing my aching legs to run i start running. My footsteps echoed in the air. My footsteps? Someone else was there behind me. Watching me. Following me.
