Chapter 1: Sober

It was 3:41 am, and Evelyn Deavor was painfully awake.

She wasn't at all tired.  She was used to staying up all night working on projects for devtech, and staying up all night drinking wine. But now she was terribly sober, and with nothing distract herself with. With no way to keep her self from revisiting and regretting every bad decision she had ever made, Evelyn threw herself down onto the old rickety prison bed.

Yeah, that's right, Evelyn was in jail. Because it turns out, whatever sentencing she had received needed more than just money 'thrown at it'. The sentence also required someone else to come and back her up. Which Evelyn just thought was a load of bullshit they had put in place just so she would have to be in jail for at least a little while.

And to make it all even better, she had betrayed her brother. Which was pretty much betraying her only chance of getting out.

But she was already a criminal, if she couldn't find a legal way to get out of jail... she'd have to improvise.
