Severus woke up the next morning. Throwing on his class robes, he snatched his wand off the dresser next to him and shoved it into his waistband. Grinning, he shook Richard, waking him. Richard sat up, rubbing his eyes. Severus said, "Richard, it's our first day of class at Hogwarts! Get up!"
Richard groaned and put on his class robes as well. He picked up his wand and waved it absentmindedly at the bed. It made itself. He then slipped his wand into a hidden picket in his robes. Severus made his bed by hand. He turned just in time to see an enchanted parchment sheaf float in. "Severus Potter and Richard Longbottom. Your first class is Defense Against the Dark Arts with Draco Malfoy. Go down the stairs to the dungeons and turn left. The classroom is the fourth door on your left." It then floated away, presumably to inform other students of their classes.
Richard groaned. "Draco Malfoy?" he asked. "Like, the former Death Eater? I can't believe they let him teach here after being one of the destroyers of the school. We're lucky it was able to be rebuilt at all!" He swung his arm out, saying, "Whereas we are the grandchildren of the heroes of the Battle of Hogwarts."
Severus looked at Richard with a reproaching look. "Lucius Malfoy the First and Narcissa Malfoy forced him to serve Voldemort. It wasn't his fault, he didn't want to do it. He actually did some good things. And so did his parents. Grandpa Harry saw the good in him. And so do I!" Severus drew his wand and swung it, casting a spell of direction. His wand shot a line of light to the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom. He and Richard followed it.

Soon they arrived at the classroom. A tall, skinny, light blonde haired man stood at the head of the classroom, watching them come in. He called out, "Hello, my boys! Welcome to Defense Against the Dark Arts. I, as you may have guessed, am your teacher Draco Malfoy. You're the first students to arrive. What are your names?" He asked, smiling.
Richard and Severus walked up to him. "I'm Severus Potter." Severus responded. "And I'm Richard Longbottom." Richard said. "Potter's grandson, huh? And Neville's! Your grandfathers were among the most amazing men I've ever known. Especially Harry. You look just like them at that age." He smiled. "In fact, Richard, your grandfather is supposed to come In today from his post as Herbology professor. And Severus, your grandmother Ginny is coming to visit as well. I don't know about your young siblings. They may."
Severus groaned. Hasn't he dealt with them enough lately? Professor Malfoy smiled. "I thought you'd feel that way. Unfortunately, I fear I am not joking. They're coming." Other students began trickling in, Jenny, Fred and Cedric among them. Professor Malfoy looked at them. "Take a seat, students, and open your books to page three hundred ninety-four." Then he laughed. When the class stared at him in confusion, he explained. "Severus heres namesake, Severus Snape, said that and our whole class made it a joke."
The students glanced at each other. Professor Malfoy rolled his eyes. "Ok, then students, draw your wands. I want you all to just call me Draco. I hated the long titles when I was your age, I'm sure you do, as well. Today we will practice a few spells, and we will have some guests today." He waved his wand, saying, "Expelliarmus." while pointing it at another student. The students wand flew out of his hand. "Practice that for a moment. It should be fairly simple." Draco said, "Then we will move on to more complex spells. But nothing too hard today, of course, it is only your first day!"
The students threw those spells at eachother for a while, then Draco stood. "Students, you know our headmaster, and his wife, Ginny. They appear to have brought their grandchildren." James ran up to give Severus a hug. Severus just stood there and awkwardly hugged him back. "And there is Neville Longbottom as well. I do believe they are here to share their Defense Against the Dark Arts experiences, along with their favorite spells. Headmaster Harry first."
Harry stepped forward and drew his wand. "My first day in Defense Against the Dark Arts, your teacher and I had a duel. But I am not about to ask that of you. Instead, I'll show you my favorite spell. It is called a Patronus Charm. Watch. Expecto Patronum." A stag made of blue light sprang from his wand, bounded around the room and disappeared. "It is used to hold off Dementors. From what I hear, though, Seamus has been keeping them under control. As Minister of Magic, he has a lot to do, though, so in case of an offhand attack. Draco, your turn."
Draco stepped forward. He lifted his wand. "Incendio." A burst of flame flew from his wand. He stepped back and looked at Ginny. Ginny lifted her wand. "Lumos." The tip of her wand lit up. She looked at Draco and Harry. "Honestly, you men with your combat. How about a few practical spells?" Neville drew his wand and whispered, "Engorgio." The desk he had pointed his wand at grew suddenly. He then turned and left, leaving everyone staring after him in perplexed astonishment. Harry and Ginny looked at Draco. Then they hurried after him. Draco looked at the class. "Practice those spells." The class went to work.

A/N For those of you who don't know, 'expecto patronum' translates roughly to, "I await a guardian." in Latin. Just something I'd like to share, because J.K. Rowling was brilliant. Just wanted to say. There will be some Latin in here for spells. Because I Love Latin! Quod amor sit amet. Que dicunt, charitas conjungit. Si hoc legere, fac amicus. -Willow
