Chapter one: Welcome to Rosewood!
Sierra opened her eyes and yawned as she turned over on her side to look at the alarm clock beside her bed. She sighed as she read "6:00 AM". "Sierra! Time to get up! It's your first day in your new school!" Sierra moaned and turned around again smashing the pillow in her face. She had almost forgot, she moved to a new town and had to go to a new school with stupid obnoxious rich teenagers since her mom got a job there as a child physcologist and always made sure Sierra would tell her about her feelings after every day in school.
"I'm up Mom, I'll be down after I get dressed" Sierra jumped down off the side of her bed and walked with her shoulders slumped to her dresser. Her mother would never approve of walking that way, her head was not held up high, so she would not be showing any self confidence. She picked up her brush, and combed her hair braiding it then putting it off to the right side of her head. She applied a small amount of pink eyeshadow and light pink glitter lipgloss. She walked to her closet and look on the hook where her mother placed a bright pink dress which definatly showed self confindence for anyone to wear in public. Avoiding any chance of touching the dress, she pulled out a T-shirt with a logo on it for her favorite movie. Then she placed on her favorite jeans with ripped knees, carefully placing on her ankle boots being sure her socks wouldn't get stuck in the socks, then she grabbed her backpack weighing almost a good twenty pounds and walked down stairs.
"Sierra? What happend to that dress I bought you. Im sure you could make a lot of friends with that, it shows how self confident you are!"
Gulping, she needed to think of an excuse instead of saying what she was thinking, how could she wear something that Barbie's little sister colored on while painting her nails and eating a strawberry lolipop.
"Oh, the dress was way to small, so I put this on. doesnt it show how self confident I am since I don't need to buy new clothes from expensive stores just to look like everyone else?" Sierra quickly turned her head and rolled her eyes while she grabbed the toasted butterd bagel her mom left for her on a plate on the marble topped counter.
"Really? I thought I got you the perfect size, I guess maybe I read the tag wrong. I'll have to return it after I get out of work. I'm making a speech tommorow on how important self confidence is tomorrow morning. How exciting! Working in the same building with my daughter, living the same life as her! Meeting everyone! Working with other teenagers knowing how I can help them" Sierra's mom clapped her hands together and sat at the table across from her daughter taking a sip of her coffee.
"very exciting, but Mom, please, just Please! Do Not, Mention my name. At all!"
Sierra's mom gave her a certain look she always gives her when she does not agree with Sierra's thought because it showed she was not self confident. "Sierra, please. Nothing bad would happen anyway." Sierra sighed.
"I got to go now Mom, I don't want to miss the bus." Sierra's mom rushed over an hugged her. After a minute of hugging, she pushed her mom away and made her way outside. She walked down the sidewalk to the end of the block to find her bus. She kicked rocks and lost track of how long it would take her to get to the end of the block. She heard a beep and stopped, falling and tripping on the rock finding herself in the middle of the street she needed to cross. She stood up and looked to find her bus driver looking at her, she almost missed and got hit by her bus on the first day of her new school. She pushed back her hair and limped her way onto the bus with her scraped and bleeding knee and her bruised arm. she touched her palm to her face and saw there was blood. She didn't know how bad it was but she didn't care. "Um, I'm sorry, I didn't pay much attention. I just moved here so I kind of-"
"It's fine, just watch where you are going from now on hun." The lady cut her off rounding the corner. Gulping, she pushed herself inside of the seat hoping to avoid anyone making contact with her.
"Excuse me, but do you need a band-aid?" Sierra heard a voice. Turning, she saw a boy with glasses and on the first glance she could tell he would be classifyed as a nerd.
"Um, that would be great actually." Sierra quickly took the band-aid, thanked him, then turned back to the window hoping she could clean up quickly. Taking out a mirror out of her back pocket in her backpack, she looked at her face and didnt see a cut, except for the dry blood, looking down at her palm she saw it had been bleeding with a small cut. She put the band-aid on her scraped knee and wiped the blood off as much as she could right before the bus arrived.
When Sierra stepped off the bus, the first thing she saw was a giant sign infront of the building that said: Welcome To Rosewood Academy. New york's best private school since 1995. She took a deep breath then stepped through the door. She walked to the front desk where she could find everything she would need since she did not have a mailed schedual.
"How can I help you?" A blonde woman asked Sierra while typing on her computer. She looked to be in her sixties but had a voice of a twenty-year old girl.
" Hi, Im Sierra Weshwold and I just moved here. I was wondering if you had my schedual or locker combination?"
"Oh yes, Maria Weshwold's daughter, here are your papers, if you need help getting somewhere try askig anyone in the hallway, I'm sure they would be glad to hel." The woman never looked away from the keyboard until she haded Sierra the papers. She nodded to Sierra and turned back.
"Thank you," Sierra called while walking out. Sierra kept looking back untill the door closed, she finally looked ahead when she hit into something, or someone.
" Oh my god! Whats wrong with you, watch where you're going looser." A girl with pink everything looked at her with a disgusted look.
"Oh gosh, im so so sorry. Are you okay?"
"whatever, just get out of my way." The girl walked straight past Sierra. Sierra bit her lip and walked the opposite way, toward her locker, number 178.
"170,171,172," Sierra counted under her breath until she reached her locker, putting in the combination carefully, she put her back pack on the bottom shelf then focused on her paper. "Period one, science, Mrs.Westley, room 200." She looked at the numbers on the door, 202,201,and finally 200. She grabbed her green notebook, folder, and binder. Along with some pens and pencils she put in the folder. She was going to her favorite class, nothing could go wrong there.
