Charlie's POV

There was eight of us. And there always had been. We'd been best friends since the very beginning of pre-school. And now, here we are, eighteen and going into college, still best friends.

There was me, Michael, Allie, Calum, Skylar, Ashton, Harper, and Luke. Never any more, never any less. We were so close, me and Michael had ended up dating, as did Skylar and Ashton.

I honked my car horn as I pulled up in front of Skylar's house. "Sky, come on! We need to get the others!" I yelled, seeing the front door finally open. Skylar ran out and opened the trunk, shoving her bag in before running around to the front seat, sitting down next to me.

"Okay. To the others. Let's go." Skylar said, wide smiles on both of our faces as I started driving towards my boyfriend, Mike's, house, where we would pick up everyone else. It was only a few minutes away, a couple streets down. We all lived in the same neighbourhood, and we had for our whole entire lives. It probably helped us become such a close-knit group of friends.

I honked the horn again, and everyone ran out the front door in a line. I got out and opened the trunk, helping everyone arrange their bags in a way where it would all fit. I checked it over one more time as everyone got into the car, and smiled at it before shutting the trunk and running back to the drivers seat. "Who's ready for the trip of a lifetime?" I asked, looking around the car at the eight of us.

"I'm ready to get out of this place. Now book it, Charlie, or I'll be forced to call you Charlotte." Michael said, bouncing his foot up and down restlessly. I turned around to look at him, narrowing my eyes at him. "If you call me Charlotte, there will be no kisses from me for the whole trip." He gasped, putting a hand over his heart. "You wouldn't." I smirked, turning around and buckling my seatbelt. "Oh, but I would."

"Will you two cut the couple crap? I didn't sign up to be surrounded by your pointless arguments. I just want to have fun." Allie said, crossing her arms over her chest. "God, Al, you're so mean." Mike said, pushing her shoulder. "Shut up! Charlie, drive. Please." Luke pleaded, and I laughed before putting my foot down and speeding off.

We had been driving for what felt like years when the sun started to go down. I stopped at a traffic light (we had started taking back roads) and looked back at everyone else. All of them were asleep. Luke had his arms wrapped around Harper, Calum's head was in Allie's lap, and Skylar and Ashton were just completely wrapped up in each other they were practically one person. Mike had fallen asleep with his cheek against the window, and it took everything in me not to get my phone out and take a picture while I could.

"Charlie?" I heard someone mumble.

"Yes?"

"Are we going to stop somewhere for the night?" The person replied, and I had figured out it was Ashton speaking very, very softly.

"Oh, yeah. I found this one house that people stay in all the time, its only about five more minutes away. So you might want to wake everyone up now, so we're awake to get settled into the house." He nodded and started nudging Skylar's cheek to wake her up. I turned back to the front and saw the light turn green, driving off again.

We drove for a few more minutes before we came to the house we were staying in that was in the middle of a field. I saw a dirt road that was leading up to it, and I turned onto it, driving along the bumpy road and parking in front of the porch. "Its our humble abode for the night. Everybody out." I said, jumping out of the car and going to the back, getting out my bag. I walked up the porch steps, remembering that there was a key to the house underneath the welcome mat. I bent down and picked it up, unlocking the door and walking in. I waited in the living room until everyone was inside, sitting down on a chair. "Okay, so there's only four rooms so that means we're sharing. Obviously, me and Mike are sharing one, and Sky and Ash are sharing one." I explained, seeing Luke look straight to Harper as I said the word sharing. "I'll room with Harper." He almost yelled, immediately blushing. "That leaves me and Cal." Allie said, smiling at Calum.

"Alright, that's rooms sorted." I started, getting a sly smirk on my face. "Let's get our pajamas on and play some truth or dare."
