Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Shadows Chapter 1 Adventure

Hey. My name is Chrome! I'm a Skarmory! I'm in an exploration team! Team Shadow, my other team members are an Umbreon named Tsukiakari, but we just call her Tsu. My third team mate is an Absol named Saigai, but we call him Sai. This story, is the story of what happened...

It was a nice summer day and I was perched on a rock on the beach. Sai and Tsu were next to the rock, sleeping away. I was about to drift off to sleep, when I heard someone scream "CHROME! CHROME WHERE ARE YOU?!" Me, Tsu and Sai jumped up, we looked around and saw Chatot, half running half flying towrds the beach. I opened my tempered steel wings and landed right in front of him; nearly landing on him. He looked up at me intimidated for a second by my hight compared to him. His 0.5 meter hight compared to my 1.5 meter hight. When he finaly realized it was me, he got up and cleared his throat. I stayed silent so he could say what he was going to say. "Well, Chrome. I have a mission for your team. Only your team can do it." I looked down at him and said "Whats the mission?" He grunted and took a paper from a bag that was slung around his shoulder. He handed it to me, It said:

We need a rescue team to save us. We will reward with whatever you want... just please save us. We are in Deep Shadow Isle... please help us....

I read this over a few times then muttered to myself, "Where's Deep Shadow Isle?"

I folded the paper and put it in my adventure bag. "Well... I've heard its in the middle of the sea... Would you be strong enough to carry both Tsu and Sai across the sea by flying?" I shook my head and said "One or the other, not both. What about a Lapras? I know a few that would be happy to help." I then said with a chuckle "They know the sea better than Guildmaster Wigglytuff knows his perfect apples!" We both chuckled at this. I heard some one say behind me say "I see, Dark Shadow Isle... I know where that is" I spun around to see a shady looking Weaville leaning against a tree. "I could show you, if you want." He walked towards me. He held out his paw and said "Pass me your map." I took my map from my bag and placed it in the Weaville's waiting paw. He opened it and took a quill from behind his ear, and scribbled something down. He gave me back the map and it had a small island circled in the far north edge. He looked me straight in the eye and spoke with a serious tone "Be very careful. And always look behind you... Make sure no one follows you." I said thank you and put the map back in my adventure bag. "Also, what's yo-" When I looked back up to the Weaville. He was gone... "Where did he go...?" I stared off in the direction that the Weaville had been a few moments prior. "Where'd who go?" I looked at Chatot with a look of disbelief. "The Weaville that was just here," He looked at me confused. "I didn't see a Weaville... are you sure you weren't imagining things?" I shuffled my wings in aggervation. "He walked up to me. Asked for my map and marked Deep Shadow Isle on it!" Chatot backed away and said "Are you sure you're ok...? Like up here?" He patted his head with his head with his wing. "Of course I'm alright! Just give me some time to think about it and talk to my team!" I snapped. I opened my wings in a menacing way and stomped a foot. Chatot gave a small squeal and was flying back to the guild in seconds. I closed my wings. Still growling. "You should be more careful. He could make our team go kapout in a second." I turned my head and saw Tsu walking towards me. "Sorry. He practicly called me insane..." She looked up at me. "What'd you do?" I opened my beak to tell her the story but someone cut me off "From what I heard of it. He must have seen an aparation." I turned around to see Sai. "A what?" He walked over to a large rock sitting in the sun and pounced on top of it a laid down. He yawned. "An aparation. A ghost of sorts. Came to warn you of something. What did it say?" I told Sai the story about seeing the Weaville, me giving him the map, and what he said after. "That's weird..." He stood up. "We should sleep. It's really late." Tsu and I agreed, all three of us went back to the guild. As I passed Guildmaster Wigglytuffs' room, Chatot exited and looked at me. I was looking at him with a slightly menacing gaze. I saw a hint of fear on his face before he skipped off somewhere.

The next morning I woke up to see Sai gazing out the window. "Morning Sai." I said with a yawn. He grunted and looked down from the window. "Good Morning." He sat down facing me. We stared at each other for a minute. Before I noticed Tsu's absence. "Where's Tsu?" He stood up grabbed his bag swung it over his shoulder and adjusted his bandana. "She went to go get supplies." He slowly walked to the door and said "You should get ready too. Were going. Today." I stood up "To Deep Shadow Isle?" But he was already gone. I grabbed my bag aswell. Making sure everything was in there. Map, badge, plenty of Oran berries. I threw it over my shoulder. I streched my wings and my legs. Before walking out of the room to go find Tsu and Sai.

I finaly found them at the Keckleon shop. Talking to the Keckleons. I ran to them to catch what was up. I saw Tsu glance in my direction and she turned back to them. she seemed to be shushing them. I got closer and heard Tsu say "Well thanks for everything, we'll see you again sometime!" She walked towards me with the smile that told me she was hiding something. Sai looked troubled. Thats acctually the most emotion I've seen on him since Team PokéPals defeated Darkrai. He was quite happy then. We were also really young then.Team PokéPals dissapeared mysteriously one day when going to go explore... some place... I don't remember where. "Whats... Wrong?" Tsu and Sai looked at eachother, then Tsu said "Nothing's wrong, Nothing, lets go to the beach. There should be a Lapras there to take us to Deep Shadow Isle." I looked at them with a slightly confused expression then muttered "Right... The beach." I turned and slowly walked to the beach. I was thinking... "What were they talking about at the Keckleons shop? I'll ask them." When we got to the beach, a Lapras was resting its head on the soft sand. Sai walked up to her and said "Tessie. Were here." The Lapras lifted her head and greeted the Absol. "So, You guys ready?" I nodded and streched my wings. "I'll fly for a bit and Tsu and Sai will sit on your back. Ok?" They all looked at eachother and nodded. "Alright but just until you get tired. It's gonna be a long way. I nodded and opened my wings. I stepped back, the steel of my wings chinking together like armor. I ran towards the water and jumped. The wind caught under my wings and I glided easy on the breezy day.

It was a few hours later when my wings started to feel tired. I started to glide a little closer to Lapras, when I something caught my eye on the horizon. A dark spec that got slightly closer every second. "Guys! I think I see it!" When I looked onto Lapras' back I saw that Tsu was sleeping and Sai was looking at his map. "Sai!" He looked up at me with a tired gaze. "I see it!" His eyes widened slightly and he put away his map. He stood up and looked past the Lapras' neck. He stared before waking up Tsu. Tsu slowly got up and stared the direction Sai was pointing. Her face lit up. But before she could express her hapiness further, I felt immense pain in my wings and I couldent flap them anymore, and I crashed into the water.I felt the cold water rush up around me. I coulden't breathe, and I was fading fast. I tried holding on to conciousness... but it slipped away from me. And I was left in total darkness...

I woke up on a dark beach. From what I could see, it seemed to be midnight. I tried to get up, but my wings hurt like mad. I pushed through the pain to get into a somewhat of a roosting postion. I looked around and saw the beach seemed to be deserted. I slowly got to my feet. This hurt even more. But I did it anyways. I realized that I was extremely hungry. so I went to go see if there were any berries or apples I could eat. I walked about 4 steps before collapsing. The only thing I could hear were my gasps for breath, And my heartbeat... That seemed to be slower than usual. I looked up to see a small dark shape peer from behind a tree. But before I could get a good glimpse of it. It swung back behind the tree. I couldn't think about it for too long, because I passed out a few seconds later.

I woke up with a screech. Jolting upwards. I smacked back onto the ground when gravity took effect. I looked around too see a small Kirlia with a cloth in her hand. I felt overheated. She walked over to me and crouched beside me. She placed the cloth on my forehead. I felt a little better. I tried to say a thank you. I opened my beak, but no words would come out. She shushed me anyways. "My name is Fi. I try and help the Pokémon that are tricked into coming here by him." I cocked my head, confused about that last statement. "Tricked? who's him?" She looked around, making sure no one was around. Leaned close to my ear and said. "The creator of nightmares himself... Darkrai"
