so i've said i would continue writing and updating this story, but i'm not feeling it anymore?
when i started this fic last year [ i think? ] i was really hyped about it especially with the positive feedback it's getting, and recently i've read a 'guide' to the omegaverse trope and i didn't like what i read. i don't like, more like i don't agree, with a lot of the things that were written. the information wasn't established by the author of the guide but is more like research from where they read many other fics and things of the sort.
i'm thinking of changing up some aspects of the storyline. one being that instead of a/b/o dynamics, the characters would just be regular werewolves without the ranks. of course seokjin's father would still be the alpha because he is the leader of their 'pack,' or in this case, the leader of those werewolves that live in the area of and surrounding seoul. it would be more like a secret society of werewolves, ya feel? mates, mating/bonding/bonds and other things would still be included. the reason being for the removal of the dynamic, to put it simply, is the heat cycle the omegas experience. many fics that i have read have it happen at some point in the story, and how the characters happen to 'mate' most of time is by the omegas heat.
for me, the bonding portion is something very emotional and intimate, something that your characters go through because of the feelings they have for each other and because it's their soulmate they're being bond to [ or maybe it's because i'm a softie and a romantic ] but bonding because one of them is needy as it's their bodies nature to submit and be bred and the other for not being able to 'resist' the allure of such a smell is not something that i side with.
but that's just me. if you have a different opinion from mine that's cool. it was something that was getting on my nerves for sometime and i didn't want my story to end up with a basic scene? the plot is pretty basic though not by much.
i'm not sure whether i'm going to go through with the change or just put this fic aside, so i ask of you lovely readers that you share some of your thoughts, questions or concerns with anything regarding what i've stated.
i might do it, i admit. if i do then say goodbye to omega jimin.
