Chapter 10

   Two weeks passed since Emerson's funeral. Myra walked into Zoella's room to check up on her. "Two weeks passed, crazy isn't it?" Zoella said shaking her head. "I'm really glad to see you're better. I was so worried about you." Myra said as she sat down on the bed next to her. "The pain is never gonna go away, it never does, you just have to get used to it." Myra replied. "The more I know you, the more stronger you seem to get." Myra said with s smile. "I have you to thank for that Myra, you've really helped me grow as a person, and I truly have no one to thank but you!" Zoella replied as she gave Myra a tight one armed hug. "It's time we get back to work and continue fighting for The Kingdom. It's gonna be ours, I just know." Myra said with pride as she stood up and left Zoella's room.

Brandon and Carter were in the police station straightening up the place before the new girl, Alex, came. It wasn't even a minute and she was already buzzing at the door. Brandon let her in, and both guys were amazed by her intimidating beauty. "Damn." Carter whispered loud enough for Brandon to hear him. "Keep it business." Brandon said with a cold tone. "I'm here just as promised, look guys, I'm not here to screw around and deal with baby crap around here, it's time I brought some law and order into this place." Alex said checking herself in the mirror on the wall. "And what do you mean by that exactly?" Brandon asked with a smirk. "It means we're doing something about all these disgusting Fae's. It's time we stop them once and for all. I'm not an idiot, I know they exist, and you guys are gonna help me get rid of them." Alex said with her fists clenched. Brandon and Carter looked at each other in the most shocked way as possible. "Just go with it." Brandon whispered to Carter. "What makes you think Fae exist?" Carter asked. "Come on, watch the news, look at your damn files, so many people died mysteriously in this town, I get it, we live in Detroit, it's a crappy place, but the way these people are dying, it doesn't add up to me." Alex said as she sat down across from them and crossed her legs. "Well looks like we need to investigate first." Brandon said as they heard the buzzer going off out front. The man who works in the front office opened the doors and Myra walked into the station. "Hey guys, I just wanted to let you know we're having a little get together tonight at The Cherry, and you're invited." Myra said with a smile. "We'd love to come, thank you." Alex said with a fake smile. "Who's this?" Myra asked in confusion. "This is our new worker here at the station, Alex. Alex, this is Myra." Brandon said as he introduced them to each other. "Very nice to meet you." Alex said with a friendly fake tone of voice. "Same to you. How does 8 PM sound?" Myra asked. "Great! Thanks!" Alex said cutting off Brandon and Carter as they were about to reply.

Farrah was looking in her closet trying to find something to wear for the get together tonight. Danica and Gianna walked into her room talking as loud as they could. "Girls, do you mind? I'm trying to find something to wear." Farrah said with a frustrated tone of voice. "We just wanted to clarify something with you, tonight can be a night of feeding as well, right?" Danica asked. "Of course it can be, just be very discreet about it, you know the rules." Farrah said with a serious tone. "Of course we know, we needed this night for awhile with all the depressing crap going on around here." Gianna said with a shrug as they both left the room. "Oh, tonight should be great." Farrah said with a sigh as she gave up looking for clothes and threw herself on her bed.

Zara and Natalie we're both down in the lab getting ready for tonight. "You know I don't really think I wanna go out tonight." Natalie said with an unsure tone. "Why not?" Zara asked. "I'm not ready, I know for a face I'm not normal yet, I could feel it." Natalie replied in disgust. "Sweetie. None of us are normal, you guys are Fae for Christ's sake. It's gonna be a fun night." Zara said with a smile. "I guess I could go if you're going, I can make an exception." Natalie said as they both started to laugh. "You know, you really don't realize how grateful I am that you're here with me today, I never thought this was actually gonna happen but it did. I could never ever be more grateful then I already am right now." Zara said as she stared into Natalie's eyes. "This is rough, I'm not gonna lie, but I'm glad you're here with me along the way for this ride." Natalie replied with a smile as they both kissed each other on the lips.

   "Brandon and Carter arrived at Alex's House, and she opened up the door right away and welcomed them inside. "Ready?" Brandon asked. "I'm always ready. But I need to say something first before we go." Alex said with discomfort in her face. "What is it?" Carter asked. "That girl. Myra. There's something fishy about her, I could smell it on her. I don't like it." Alex said with suspicion. "Oh come on, you still aren't on this Fae crap are you? They aren't real!" Brandon said trying to convince Alex as best he could. "I don't buy it for a second. I just don't." Alex said as she walked outside of her house with the two men following. "Just have a good time tonight. Give work a break." Brandon said as the three of them got into the car. "Fine. But we're going to take a look into this as soon as possible, okay?" Alex asked with a serious tone of voice. "Fine." Brandon agreed as he pulled out of the parking lot.

   Myra, Zoella, and Farrah were the first ones to arrive at The Cherry. They walked back to their private table in the back and sat down. "How many more people are coming?" Zoella asked as she looked around the club. "I'd say maybe five or six more at least." Farrah shrugged as Danica and Gianna finally arrived and joined them at the table. "Sorry we're a little late. We just fed on two guards in the back!" Gianna said with a laugh. "That was one of the best! I still feel the rush." Danica added with excitement. "I still need to feed. Ugh, I feel like it's been forever!" Myra said as she sat back into her seat. Zara arrived holding hands with Natalie, they both sat down at the table, and all the girls right away senses nervousness from Natalie. "It's okay." Zara whispered in Natalie's ear. "I know I know." Natalie whispered back quickly as they both sat down. "Hi girls. So happy you could make it." Farrah said with a smile. "Is this just gonna be one big Fae party?" Zoella asked in confusion. "Not exactly." Danica replied as Jake walked in with Brandon, Carter, and Alex behind him. They all sat down at the table, and for a moment there was awkward silence. "Everyone, this is Alex. She's a new officer at the station." Brandon said as he welcomed Alex. "Nice to meet you everyone. I promise I'm gonna make a change in this crappy town." She said with a smile as she began to laugh. "It's so nice to have you here." Farrah said as she shook Alex's hand. Alex paused for a second and froze completely. "Is everything alright?" Carter asked with a puzzled look on his face. "Yes. Sorry." Alex said as she faked it off with a laugh. "I hope you all don't mind, I ordered us all beers just to start us off." Farrah said as the waiter, Ginger, set the drinks down on the table. "Keep them coming, gorgeous." Myra said with a smile as she tipped her $20. Ginger blushed and walked away. "If you guys don't mind, I need to use the ladies room." Alex said as she stood up quickly and walked away from the area. She secretly walked outside in the back and saw the dead security guards bodies. Alex gasped and grabbed onto her purse in fear. She slowly smelled the air, then began to smell the bodies. "Fae." She said with anger clenching her purse as tight as she could.
