You didn't knew why they were so mad at him, if he had never hurt you.

You only see that as a joke. And did not took it seriously.

At the corner of your eye you could see midoriya and shinsou waiting patiently for you.

You really didn't wanted to deal with this mess so you went in the middle of everything to stop them from getting this situation any worse.
