Maka yawned tiredly, closing her eyes tighter as she hugged her pillow. She stretched her arms as she sat up in her bed, yawning groggily once again. Rubbing her eyes, her emerald orbs fluttered open, glancing over to the calendar. There was a big, red circle over today's date with some words written inside of it. She squinted, wondering what important event was today.

Her eyes instantly widened as she flung her legs over her bed, shooting into a standing position. The meister entered the bathroom attached to her room hurriedly, quickly getting ready for the day. She brushed her teeth in a flash, immediately grabbing her purple hairbrush and combing it through her tangled, messy hair. Maka tied her ash-blonde locks into her signature pigtails, and added a green ribbon to each one. She put on little make-up, considering she wasn't a big fan of it, really.

She searched through her closet, grabbing a white tank-top and short green shorts without a second glance. Maka cleared her throat before stepping out of her room, closing the door softly.

"Soul?" she called out quietly, just in case the scythe was still asleep. It wouldn't be a surprise if he was... There wasn't a response, so Maka carefully tip-toed to his room, pressing her ear against his door. She rolled her eyes at the sound of snoring, concluding that he was still dozing off, in no rush to get the day started. Maka, however, could hardly wait.

You see, it was their anniversary. Today was the day she and Soul had become partners. Her weapon had promised to take her out to dinner tonight, so Maka thought she would make him breakfast as a treat. She entered the kitchen, eyeing the neatly-sealed envelope containing a letter she'd prepared a few days before that lay on the table. She decided to let Soul know her true feelings through a note on a day that was special to them both, being too shy to admit them aloud.

She loved him. No matter how many times she denied it, she knew she loved him, and she has loved him for a long time now. And when he opened the letter today, her feelings would be revealed.

Maka prepared pancakes for their breakfast, and made some bacon for them as well. She pulled out the whipped cream, making a huge spiral out of the foamy topping on both of their pancakes. She then poured warm, gooey syrup on top of them, cutting a strawberry in half and placing one half in the middle of each pancake. Placing some bacon on the side of the plate, Maka walked over to Soul's room, deciding to wake him with a plate of fresh food.

"Happy Anniversary, Soul!" she greeted cheerfully, opening the wooden door. Her eyes widened, and she dropped his breakfast, gasping at the sight before her.

~~~~~~
Soul was happily dozing off, before a petite, perverted black cat pounced on his chest, placing a paw on his forehead. His eyes flashed open, and he grunted, pushing Blair off of him before rolling over.
"Nya!" she yelped, clawing at the sheets as she struggled to keep herself from falling off the bed. She let out a sigh of relief as she reached safety on top of the bed, adjusting the witch's hat the was placed upon her head. "Soooul," she groaned, draping herself over him. "I'm booored."
"That's your problem," he grunted, pulling his blanket securely over his body.
"Play with me!" she pouted, tugging on his arm with her tiny paws. He let out a sigh of frustration, sitting up and looking at the feline with a bored expression.
"I can't," he explained. "I promised Maka we could spend the day together and that I would take her out for dinner." Blair tilted her hair to the side with a confused expression.
"So, you two are going on a date?" she assumed, and Soul flinched, his cheeks flushing. "Really? You with Maka?"
"It's not a date!" Soul assured, shaking his head. "But, why did you seem so surprised?"
