The days fly by and it's finally Friday.
Jared and I pack our bags."Why do I have to come to your house?" He asks me.
"Because I want you to." I say.
"Haven't you watched Get Out? Going to your girlfriend's house is always a bad sign." He argues.
"Don't mention that movie to me. I hate it." I shiver thinking about the movie.
"You're just a baby." He taunts.
"But I'm your baby." I smirk and ruffle his hair.
"Gross....stop being cheesy." He groans.
"You love me being cheesy." I smirk.
"Nope....hate it."
"You don't hate anything about me." I argue.
"I do....I really do." He deadpans.
"Oh really?" I raise a brow.
"Yeah."
I grab my phone and replay a voice recording.
"I love everything about you."
He makes a face.
"I didn't know you recorded that."
"You sent it to me."
"I also sent this." He smiles.
"I love you but you need to stop being cheesy."
"Weird. I never got that message."
He laughs as he zips up his bag.
"You ready?"
"Nope." I groan. "My bag can't be closed."
"Sit on the bag." He sighs. "I'll zip it up."
We finally close my bag. Then head downstairs.
"Haze...we're ready." I say.
I find my brother passed out on the couch, pizza on his stomach, the remote in his right hand, and a bottle of beer in the left hand.
"Haze!!!!" I run to him, I try to shake him awake but he doesn't move.
"Jared!"
"On it." He says. Together we hoist my brother up and carry him to Jared's car. Thank God we have our licence.
Jared's POV
I look to my right, where Lisa is sitting. She looks pale. She hasn't moved an inch since she sat in the car. Her eyes are locked on the road. A blank expression is on her face. She seems indifferent but I know she is screaming on the inside.
I reach for her hand and she takes it."It's going to be okay babe." I try to reassure her.
She doesn't reply but she keeps her eyes on the road.
After the long, silent drive we finally get to the hospital.
She darts out of the car to alert a nurse and soon Haze is carried out of the car and taken to a room.
"Does he have insurance?" The nurse asks.
"Are you dumb? My brother isn't waking up and you're asking me if he has fucking insurance!?" Lisa screams.
The nurse stands her ground.
"He has insurance." I say calm.
One of the reasons I hate doctors.
