Once we organized all the snacks I fed my bird Winston and immediately after went to wake up my dog who was undoubtedly asleep outside again.
"Nala," I whispered, slightly shaking her.
Nothing.
"Nala," I tried again.
Still nothing.
"Snack time?" I ask her and not even a second later her head popped up as she looked at me with excited eyes.
"I knew that'd wake you up. Like mother like daughter," I tell her slightly laughing as she runs around me, eager to eat.
"Come on, let's go inside," I say walking into the house as she follows me.
Nala is my Corgi and I love her to death, she's my little baby and I've had her since I was 13. I also have a Blue Bearded Dragon who's the cutest thing ever and I'm pretty sure I spoil her a lot for a lizard, but what can I say? I love my girls. And yes I know Winston is a boy's name.
Your point is?
Once inside Nala heads straight for the pantry knowing all the snacks are there. I decide to tease her and take out a bag of doggy treats and set them on the table in front of her.
She whines once she realizes what I'm doing and starts to beg.
My heart.
Once I feel she's been tortured enough I give her the treats and we head upstairs to my room where Alicia is waiting.
"Nala!" she shouts, holding her arms out to attract Nala's attention. Nala didn't even spare her a glance and headed straight for the beanbag next to my bed.
Alicia pouted and sat on a chair on the opposite end of the room, sulking.
"When will you give up?" I ask her with an amused expression. Nala's never liked her for some reason, but then again she doesn't like a lot of people.
"Never," she says determined.
After an hour or so of talking about nothing in particular, and many more attempts by Alicia to get Nala to show any sort of interest in her, we finally decide to give our bodies the much needed rest they deserve.

The weekend passes by like a blur and unfortunately it's time for me to go to the hellhole they call school.
The first thing I feel when I wake up is a ball of fluff curled into my neck.
Shortly after I start fidgeting the orange ball of fur known as my dog moves over from my neck to my stomach.
After laying there for five minutes contemplating my life decisions and reliving embarrassing moments from the past 17 years of my life I slightly push Nala and she flops over off my stomach and onto her back. This is basically our ritual every morning.
As I slowly stand up I stretch and my back and various other places crack making satisfying popping sounds, and I sigh in relief. It was short lived because soon I remembered not only is it Monday, but Alicia also won't be at school today because she has a doctor's appointment and managed to get out of going to school the entire day.
The lucky bastard.
I turn on the lights and go through my daily routine, remembering to fill Nala's food bowl and trying to avoid thinking about the impending doom I'm bound to face at school before deciding I have enough time for a quick five minute nap.
