The unholy kitsune

Naruto pov

My anbu team was coming along nicely, only I was known by the world... the rest of my team managing to keep their identities hidden, the world knew I had a team and had taken to calling them the ghosts, as they were there, but never seen, I was only known in my persona as naru or to them the unholy kitsune.

The group had only come together since we stopped taking excessive missions and focusing wholly on the snake orochimaru.

We had tracked him down to several bases but he vanished before we could catch him we did however discover he was teaching a student but none of us had seen this ninja.

It was during a training class which would kill a normal anbu that I spotted a black hawk flying above our heads, this hawk was exclusive to extremely important meetings where nobody was to know you were there.

Immediately I had my team at my side, haku next to zabuza, sora grinning happily as they all spoke in unison "yes captain"

I scowled playfully in my naru personality as I gave the hand sign which henged me into a small robin and I ran along a rooftop to everyone seeming as a small bird flying towards the hokage tower.

My team simply teleported but with my speed, I made it there first annoying the competitive group as they sighed defeated.

kakashi the dog anbu was not here and with a questioning look to hokage Sama I was told me he would be back later that day after a long term mission.

I sighed gently bowing to the hokage I listened waiting. My team left at a single hand sign.

His aged face looked weary and my shoulders tensed at what would undoubtably be unwanted news.

He puffed on his pipe for a moment before beginning "general Naruto .... Your anbu team the ghosts as they have been named, are being disbanded." I choked my brain going a mile an hour disbanded why??? What could we have done?.

"Sir??? What did we do?... I can fix it! I will fix it! You cant take away my team!!!" I protested quietly, desperately.

He stared at me silently puffing on his pipe before continuing like he hadn't heard me. "The council... has brought to my attention that not a single one of your members bar shisui and itachi who are consequently banished are legally ninja of the leaf village."

I froze my mind going back to where I collected them from, a monk temple, the land of the waves a missing ninja, an orphan child raised by said ninja. I groaned realising he was correct.

He continued slowly " in order for your team to reassign together they will need to reach genin and go through a chuunin promotion before they will be allowed to become anbu once again."

"They will have to go through the academy and then join a genin team until they become chuunin. In doing so you will be alone, I have a mission for you that lasts during their own agenda... you will complete this mission."

"Sasuke Uchiha, you know just as much as I do that the snake sannin your ultimate target is after him, it is my belief he will make a move against him soon, its time naruto."

I sucked in a breath dreading what he was about to say

"Its Time naruto uzumaki namikaze , you will take off your genjutsu, you will rejoin the academy as naruto uzumaki, you will ensure you are placed on Sasuke uchihas team, he is the best in the class so you will have to be the worst in the class, you will act as an idiot during the academy to ensure nobody suspects you as an anbu, you must protect Sasuke and his sharingan from orochimaru."

"Consenquently you must defeat orochimaru when he does come for the uchiha... your team will be going through a fast tracked academy level and will be out of the academy within a week you however in the normal class will be stuck there for around a month"

i sighed tiredly "jiji I'm not even the right age to be in the academy, I'm ten, Sasuke is a year older than me, I'm still physically smaller than the others."

"Naruto, no excuses you are taking this mission it is a triple s rank mission, and I can only give it to you. The fact that you appear smaller than the others will help you look like the worst student. Go naruto break the news to your team go to your apartment, spend the day in town without your naru genjutsu, your mission starts now."

I sighed quietly my head nodding "hai hokage Sama I accept..." with that moment I removed my genjutsu and henged my anbu clothes into normal clothes.

My stomach dropped as I realised I had to explain this to my team.

I left in a series of shadow steps, my figure flickering to life at our team compound. Everyone who were sitting around a small campfire stood up looking at me. I sighed at their expectant faces, sitting down on a log myself I ran my hands through my hair sighing.

" The hokage has disbanded our anbu team effectively immediately you are no longer anbu."

Everyone froze  protesting loudly I waved my hand and silenced them.

"You are all officially academy students, it came to the hokages attention that none of you have become a hidden leave village ninja so you must go through a fast tracked academy course, join a genin team most likely you three together and then you must become chuunin before you may rejoin my team as anbu. Is that clear?"

"Hai captain Sama" they sung in unison and I groaned "ive been tasked with sticking near sasukes side as his rival for the foreseeable future until he becomes a chuunin, on top of that I have to act my age...even worse.... An idiot for my age until he graduates the academy.... I want to hear not a single one of you complaining...got it?"

I looked up to see my ghosts all red in the face barely containing their laughter I sighed as they lost the battle hakus soft giggle lighting up the clearing and breaking everyones front sora snickering and zabuza full on howling with laughter tears escaping their eyes.

I groaned again and stood up turning to them I grinned wickedly "you will all be in your own academy, none of you will be able to talk to me for a long time... I hope none of you need my help with anything...."

They all froze in horror realising they wouldnt have the 'mother hen' of the group to look after them or to muck around with. I sighed heading inside to make sashimi and rice balls for everyones dinner.

The next day would be hell, Rama sensei was growling in annoyance that her 'kit' was going to be treated as a fool and looked down upon.

it was seriously going to suck.

I know its been a long time everyone... I'm legit so sorry about that I hope you all forgive me and comment what you think about the start of this? I seriously need some encouragement to continue this book otherwise ima give up entirely.... Anyway love you all thankyou for everything
