I'm beyond sick of this place! All I wanted to do was become a choreographer, and now I have to go through four years of stressful college. It's ridiculous. People around the world have it so easy, I wish I lived in America, people become famous for dumb reasons and they can be billionaires by age ten! Its unfair. I rage in frustration as I pick up some things, throwing them in boxes. Moving boxes. I'd already made a decision to leave Korea, for good. There's more opportunities in America, so why wouldn't I go there? Today was my last work shift as a barista for a local coffee shop, I leave tomorrow morning. I quickly threw my hair up in a bun, and did a little bit of makeup before throwing on some black heels and leaving my apartment. After serving a few customers I sat down and had my break. Checking my phone for any messages while drinking a warm cup of tea. Today I'm allowed a two hour break since it's my last day, I figured I'd spend it all on my phone. I felt someone tap on my shoulder, looking up there stood a...really cute human being. He's so adorable. He had the perfect brown eyes and hair, and was wearing a loose sweater with some ripped jeans, he kindly smiled at me.
"Is this seat taken?"
Just him saying that takes my breath away.
"No, not at all."
I moved some of my things and let him sit in front of me, he looked to be sipping one of our iced coffees that we put whipped cream on. Thankfully he's enjoying it, but now it's not my problem. I decided to try to make a conversation.
"Are you from around here," I looked into the man's eyes and saw only pure happiness, I don't know how he's so happy right now.
"Yes. I live only a block from here, this is a good stop before going to work. How about you, anywhere near here?"
"No. Well, technically yes, I'm leaving tomorrow morning. I'm going to live in America."
"Why? Don't you want to stay somewhere you grew up in, and with people around who know you, and won't be so disrespectful? I apologize but America doesn't really have the most happy people around, there's higher crime rates then here too."
I can't believe I never thought of that. I looked down at my tea thinking maybe it wasn't the best idea to move. I don't have anywhere to stay even if I stayed in Korea. My landlord thinks I'm leaving tonight to stay in a hotel, and is letting people come in tomorrow morning. I messed up. I need to stay in Korea.
"Hello?" The man waved his hand in front of my face. When he had my attention, he gave me a smile and rubbed my head. "Who am I kidding, a girl like you, they'd never take you."
"Huh?"
"You're too beautiful, you have natural beauty yet cover it with makeup. I'm sure your boyfriend thinks the same."
"I don't have a boyfriend." The man smiled, taking another sip of his coffee before talking to me again. Why would he smile though?
"I'm Taeyong."
"I'm (Y/n)."
"Well, (Y/n), you and I should talk more," Taeyong got out a napkin and wrote something on it with a pen, handing it to me. He wrote his phone number, and his name, along with a happy face. "That's my number, feel free to call or text whenever you'd like."
"Thank you, but now I have a whole different set of problems to face, thanks for the number though!"
I ran away from the table, out of the cafe. I needed to find a place to stay. I can't ask my best friend because she moved to another place in Korea, it's like a two hour drive! I decided to book a hotel for a few nights. I quickly brought three suitcases into my new hotel room, then ran back to work.
I'm staying in Korea. I'll get to know Taeyong, too.
