Jaime rides in to King's Landing through the Dragon gate and rides to the Red Keep. He rides through the gates of the castle and in to the throne room.
- Father, Jaime says when his father, lord Tywin comes towards him. First of all, before you say anything, I have something to tell you.
He gets off his horse and help his lady Alice to get off the horse and put her down on the ground next to himself.
- This is my wife, lady Alice Reed of the Greywater Watch, the next lady of Casterly Rock, Jaime says.
- Your what? lord Tywin roars in his booming voice.
- Lady Alice is my wife and I love her, Jaime says.
- I've heard of lady Alice...lord Varys says slowly.
- What did you hear, spider, Jaime asks defensively.
- That she's the bastard daughter of the hand of the king, lord Varys says.
- She's been naturalized by the king, and through our marriage, on request of the hand of the king, lord Reed, himself, so she could make a good match, with me, Jaime says. She is now lord Reed's true born daughter, and my wife, from this day til the end of my days.
- Well, that solves that problem, lord Petyr Baelish, better known as Littlefinger, says in his sly, slippery tone.
- Out, all of you, I need to speak to my son alone, lord Tywin roars low, it almost sounds like a growl. You...sit.
Jaime does as he's bid and sits down.
- Have you put a son in her yet? Tywin asks.
- She is with child, the child was conceived on the night of our wedding and my lady Alice tells me it's a son, she is certain it's a son, Jaime says.
- Good, let's hope it's a son, so you know you have someone to succeed you, Tywin says. Send for her, I want to meet my new daughter in-law.
- I shell send for her at once, Jaime says, turning to a servant. Get lady Alice and have her brought to me, tell her that her husband needs her at his side.
- Yes, milord, a servant girl says and is off like an arrow to get lady Alice and bring her to her lord husband.
Less than five minutes pass before the servant girl is back with lady Alice.
- My lord husband, you wished to see me, Alice says.
- My beloved wife, you grow more beautiful everyday, my baby inside you has made you strong, Jaime says, embracing his wife. This is my lord father, Tywin Lannister.
- My lord Tywin, your son has told me so much about you, Alice says.
- Lady Alice, it's a pleasure to welcome you as a daughter now that you've married my son, lord Tywin says, ever the well mannered lord.
