When I wake up it's almost 2:00 in the afternoon.. what can I say I'm not not a morning person. That's the weird thing though; how late I woke up my mom usually wakes my up around 10:00 in the morning. And the house is dead silent; usually my dad is watching tv. As I'm walking down the stairs I see dots of something red and I have no clue what it is. I automatically know what it is; when I see my mom on top of my dad.. both dead. The first thing I do is scream and then I run back up the stairs to grab my phone so I can call the police.
"Hello what's your emergency?"
"Uh y-yes I j-just woke up t-to find my p-parents dead at the b-bottom of the s-stairs." I say while crying.
"What is the address of your home?"
"7698 Wood D-Drive. Hurry up! I don't know if the p-person who did this is still in my h-house"
"Okay is there anyone you know that lives close by? Can you go to their house until we get there?"
"N-No I don't know anyone in this t-t-town!"
"Okay sweetie calm down. I know that where you live there's a grocery store a block down. Do you think you can run there?"
"Yeah I know I c-can."
"Okay go ahead and run to that grocery store we have someone in the area that can meet you there."
"Okay can you stay on the line just in case anything happens to me? It would make me feel a little better."
"Of course I can."
"I'm just gonna go upstairs and grab a few things that I need and a little bit of cash." I was running up the stairs so quickly that i almost fell.
"Okay but hurry up because the person that killed your parents could still be in the house."
"Okay I'm leaving my house now."
Once I get to the grocery store the first thing I do is find something to eat for breakfast I just buy a box of granola bars and eat a couple of them. Then I walk out to the front of the store to wait for the officer to meet me. It takes about 5 minutes until the officer shows up.
(Bold=officer Un-bold=Alexis)
"Are you Alexis Hankingson?"
"Yes."
"Can I ask you a couple of questions?"
"I mean I don't want you to but you have to anyways so sure."
"Around what time did you wake up?"
"Ummm around 2:00 in the afternoon."
"Okay did you hear anything when you were sleeping?"
"No; I'm a very heavy sleeper though so I'm honestly not surprised."
"Okay. Do you know about anyone the may hold a grudge or may have wanted revenge against your parents?"
"No I mean we've only lived here for not even a year. I'm pretty sure that my parents don't have any friends in this town."
"Do you have any family that lives in the state?"
"I'm not sure I've never met any other family besides my mom and dad."
"Are you lying to me?"
"Why would I lie you you?! I just lost the only family I have!" I couldn't help it; I started to break down. "I don't even have any friends! I don't have anywhere to go! And it's all my fault if I wasn't such a heavy sleeper I could've saved them!!"
"Ma'am it's not your fault."
"Shut up! Can't you see that I'm not in the mood to talk to anyone?! All I want is some food, and I wanna go back to sleep. Where am I supposed to sleep tonight? How am I supposed to get to school? I don't wanna go to sleep in that house anymore... I don't feel safe knowing that someone killed my parents and now they know where I live!"
"Um.. Alexis?"
"What do you want?!!..... I'm so sorry about how I'm treating you it's just really hard for me right now."
"I just wanted to say that I have a place you can stay."
"Really?! Where?"
"At my nephews place he's 18 and has his own place. Would you feel safe staying with him until we figure out where your parents family are?"
"Okay fine with me! So can you come with me to get my clothes from my house?"
"Yeah c'mon."
I was about to take off running when the officer yelled my name.
"ALEXIS, where are you going, i was gonna drive us there."
"I'm fine I need the exercise; I haven't ran all week!" Once we we both get to the house I noticed that the door has been kicked down; but I closed it when I left. So I tell the officer and he tells me to get behind him. So I do as I'm told and I get behind him as we walk into the house. I wish I didn't get behind him because when I did...
