Abrelle's POV

I close the door behind me and begin making my way to the waiting area, but I'm cut off by a nurse.

She has dark long hair and it takes me a few seconds before I recognize her.

Nurse Abigail.

She was my nurse when I was shot and Nathan's when he passed away.

"Abrelle Louise?" she asks, shock written all over her face.

"Nurse Abigail," I smile. "It's been so long."

"I heard about your boyfriend and I'm really sorry that you have to go through this," she frowns.

"Thank you," I say.

"I'm going to be working the ICU for the rest year," she smiles. "I'll make sure to check up on Mr. Collins."

"I would really appreciate that," I nod and she sends me one last smile before walking away.

I watch her disappear around a corner before making my way into the waiting room. I spot Genesis in the corner and in front of her is Nat playing with some colorful bouncy balls.

I sit down a few chairs away from Genesis and watch Natalie furiously bounce a pink ball before the memories of the last time I saw Abigail invade my mind.

"CODE BLUE," A nurse yells from outside the room and immediately Abigail runs out following the many nurses towards another room.

"Hurry up," someone yells and I realize the chaos is coming from the room next to me.

Nathan.

Quickly and painfully I stand up making my way towards the door.

"Abrelle," Abigail walks towards me "Please stay in bed."

"What's wrong with him?" I ask pushing her aside and going to Nathan's room.

"Abrelle," she yells after me as I reach Nathan's room and I realize that no one is doing anything to him.

I realize that everyone is quiet.

I realize that the only sound I can hear is his heart monitor.

"Time of death 11:32 A.M."

Time of death 11:32 A.M.

Nathan, if only you were here with me.

"Abrelle," a voice calls out and I'm pulled out of thoughts. I look up as my vision comes to focus and I see them.

Elliot and Macy.

I am not in the mood to deal with any of this.

"How are you?" Macy asks, a sad smile on her face and it irritates me.

"Oh I'm great," I answer, faking a big smile. "I'm just sitting here having the time of my life."

"I'm sorry," she says "it was a dumb question."

"We heard what happened on the news," Elliot says "and wanted to come offer our support."

Your support.

Offer your fucking support.

"Anything you need," Macy smiles. "Just let us know."
