Thank you for checking out The Jester. This short story was originally published in the Unfettered Anthology, edited by Shawn Speakman. That was an exceptional project to be involved with and included some of the biggest names in fantasy including: Patrick Rothfuss, Brandon Sanderson, Terry Brooks, Naomi Novik, Kevin Hearne, Mark Lawrence, David Anthony Durham, Peter V. Brett, Lev Grossman, Tad Williams, R.A. Salvatore, Jacqueline Carey, Robert V.S. Redick, Carrie Vaughn, Todd Lockwood, and Shawn Speakman. All of us donated stories to Shawn so that he could raise money to pay off hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of medical debt from fighting, and beating cancer.
The theme of the book was to write anything we wanted, but most of us wrote stories based on our most popular worlds and starring our most beloved characters. For me, that as Riyria my traditional fantasy stories about a cynical thief and an idealistic ex-mercenary.
