Chapter 4- A mistake

Hi, I'm back finally. Sorry for the long wait. Just writers block but now I have some stuff to write.

"...." there was silence for a few seconds and then Jennifer falls to the ground. Everyone looks at her.
"I'm sorry but I can't do this..." she says with tears in her eyes. "I feel like I'm going insane now. But really, this... THING could be anywhere and what does a few teenagers have to this beast of a creature. You saw Jasmines body! That thing could kill all of us in a heart beat!" She says wile tears stream down her face.
"She's right... all we know is how to hold a gun and knife. And we don't even have three guns!" Eric says in a bit too loud of a voice.
Skyler sighs, and looks at Tyler. "Look. It might not be all unicorns and rainbows but you need to toughen up. You're not he one threat might be next. And we have to do everything to make sure Emily isn't going to be harmed." Tyler says in a serious tone. Emily hugs John.
"I-I'm so s-scared..." Emily whimpers.
"Don't worry. We won't let anything hurt you." John says.
Tyler looks around and looks up a tree. "Let's stay in the trees then, if we are not going to fight." She suggests. Emily immediately brightens up.
"I love to climb!" She says excitedly. Skyler smiles slightly. "Come on! Let's climb!" Emily says with a big smile on her face. One by one they climb up the tree. Skyler stops Tyler.
"We need to protect them from anything. Emily is so young still. So Naïve." Skyler says to Tyler and Tyler chuckles.
"One year younger than us. She's one year younger than us. But I do agree. We need to make sure that she will be save and sound after this." Tyler tells Skyler than climbs up. Skyler sighs and climbs up after her.

-few hours later-

Akio was playing with a knife. Jordan was sitting next to Jennifer. Eric and John were sitting next to Emily, and Skyler and Tyler were sitting next to each other. They heard a growl and Emily whimpers. Tyler grips Skylers hand and everyone goes silent. There was crunching of the ground then the were some gruff noises. The creature roars. It was a mixture of a bear and a lion roar. Emily hugs John tighter.
...
The creature leaves. Finally. Everyone releases the breath they've been holding in and Emily silently cries, out of relief.
"That was a close one." John says. Everyone nods in response.
"No one get down till day break." Tyler orders and they nod.

-day break-

Everyone gets down from the tree. Jennifer needed help due to her not being able to. Skyler and Tyler scout the aria wile the others just hang out. Akio starts another fire and Jennifer looks through the food supplies and finds some hot dog packages.
"Perfect! We'll have hot dogs for breakfast!" She says with a smile.
Eric scoffs, "why aren't we trying to find us a way out?! I'm sick of just waiting to die!" John glares at him.
"Keep your voice down. You'll attract the thing." John says, still glaring at his friend.
Eric growls and just leans against a tree.
Skyler and Tyler suddenly run back to the camp. They were panting, out of breath.
"The thing is apparently EXTREMELY SMART." Tyler says, "It's set traps for us. Bear traps. We really need to be careful."
"We need to find a way out." Eric says.
"Well, the Thing won't let us out." Skyler says wile glaring.
"Ugh! I'm done with this!" Eric says and storms off.
"Wait-No-!" Tyler began but it was too late. Eric had stepped onto a bear trap and he screams bloody murder.
"Welp. We're dead." John states. And Skyler grabs a Knife. Tyler tightens her grip around the one she had but runs over and covers Eric's mouth, not wanting him to make any more noise.
"That's what you get for walking away." She whispers to Eric.
There was silence for a solid minute. Jennifer was the first to speak up, "I think it isn't coming..." Everyone agrees with her and help get Eric out of the Bear trap. Eric whimpers in pain and John sighs. "Why did you have to do that. If you wouldn't have done that then we'd be fine and not have to worry and now you are the weakest person." John says in a serious tone.
Eric gulps, knowing the thing will come for him next. "We should leave him as bait!" Jennifer says, "Then we can lure the thing here so we can kill it!" She says with determination laced in her voice.
"Are you crazy?!" Eric shouts, "I'll die!"
"Not if we can kill it first." John says.
"We could also have him as a peace offering so the thing will let us go." Jennifer also suggests.
"That won't work. It wants us all dead." Tyler states, "I wouldn't have trapped us in here if it didn't."
Skyler nods in agreement to what her sister was saying. "You know an awful lot of information about this thing for never seeing it before." Eric states, suspicious of the twins being behind this.
"It's normal to know everything you can about your enemy." Skyler says. I'm a defending tone.
"I'm done with all this! Eric. If you want to try and find a way out, I'll help you but I cannot guarantee that we will live." John says.
"What?! No! It's a suicide mission John!" Emily says with tears in her eyes.
"I know but he can barely walk. It's best if we at least try instead of giving up on him. That's what friends do." He says, giving her a hug.
"Please don't go! I lost my best friend, I can't loose you too!" She cries.
John sighs and kisses the top of her head, "I have to go now. Bye.." he says before walking off with Eric.
Emily cries for him. She knew they wouldn't come back. No one was going to get out of this forest. They were all doomed to fail.
