Chapter 3

"Okay, this should be a good place to stop for the night." Warren announced. 

We had been moving all day. It had been dark for a couple hours. Now we were on the outskirts of a small town ,that I hadn't even seen on the map we were looking at earlier. There were a few houses that were pretty spread out. 

"Let's clear this house." Warren told us. Doc and Murphy waited outside as the rest of us went in. 

Javier, Warren, and Addy split up and checked downstairs. 10K and I made our way upstairs to check up there. There was a hall that went both ways. I went left while 10K went right. 

I opened each door carefully, checking for zombies in each room. There was a bedroom and bathroom right across from each other. Then there was an unopened door on the end. I made my way towards it. 

The door was locked. I backed up before running into it ,making it open by the force. I had to do it twice before it opened. There was two zombies inside ,a man and a woman. I quickly mercied them with my new bat. I had to get another one since I lost my last one when I fought Cassandra. 

I looked around the room in awe. This person collected stuff. From comic book to action figures to weapons. I went over to a set of knifes and grabbed one. It was real. I smiled at the revelation. 

I left the room to let the others know it was clear. 10K was coming back to the stairs as well. He nodded letting me know it was clear on his side. I went to the spot by the stairs that let us look down into the living room downstairs. 

Warren and Javier were in there. I saw Addy walk outside. I whistled two low notes ,knowing Javier would know what it means. 

"It's clear." Javier told Warren. She nodded. She went outside as well. 

I grabbed 10K's wrist as he went to go downstairs. He looked at me in confusion. I nodded in the direction I came from before walking that way again. I heard 10K follow me. I led him to the room where the collection was. 

I looked back at him to see his eyes wide. I went back by the cool weapons. I grabbed the sheath for the two swords. I slipped the swords into sheaths. I looked back to 10K with a smile. He was grinning at the weapon collection. 

There were really old guns. There were blades of all kind as well. I saw some throwing stars as well. I grabbed them. 

"Wolf!" I heard Javier call. I whistled to let him know where I was. He came in. "Wow." I chuckled at his reaction. "These people were kind of nerds." 

'Helpful nerds.' I thought as I held up the throwing stars. 

"They got some nice weapons." Javier stated. 10K and I nodded in agreement. 

"Who keeps this kind of stuff in their house? Some of this stuff could be worth a lot." 10K said. 

"Most of this stuff was worth a lot." Javier told him. Then he looked at me. "Come on, we're figuring out sleeping arrangements." 

I nodded and followed him out. I heard 10K behind us. We all gathered in the living room. 

"How many rooms are upstairs?" Warren asked 10K and I. 

"I saw two." 10K told her. I held up one finger. 

"Okay, well there was only one bedroom down here. So, 10K and Doc you guys share a room upstairs. Murphy, you can have a room up there. Addy and I will take the room beside you in case you decide to try something. Vasquez, you and Wolf can take the room down here." Warren told us all the sleeping arrangements. "And I would like to have two people on watch at a time. Doc, do you think you and 10K can take the first watch?"
