I found this little blank journal while i was walking on the street yesterday afternoon after i got done taking a piss. Iv decided to keep track of things that happen now because it's only been a few months since shit went to total shit. And i guess it would be smart to keep track of what happens in case something important or interesting happens. Let me tell you right now incase whoever reads this next is not aware of how this started, one word “zombies” or whatever you want to call them. I haven't figured out what i want to call them yet. Back to how it started though. Basically everything happened the exact same way it happens in every movie about zombies. People start disappearing, kids are out of school more and more. The news started broadcasting crap about the rabies virus and the next thing you know people form riots and people see some random dude with a mysterious bite on his arm and he turns into one shortly after. Then the military get involved and the government tries to control everyone bla bla bla martial law, they start blocaiding neighborhoods like mine but it eventually gets over run so they have to evacuate it and i just so happen to be one of those survivors that gets left behind and is almost completely fucked. So yeah it's been a little crazy these past few months.

Let me start how i got here with hi, my name is jack im fourteen and i was fucked from the start “technically” but not really. The neighborhood that i lived in was blockaded by the government until they could “get things under control.” It didn't work out. I learned that it didn't work out when coming out of my room  one morning and noticing that nobody was home. I, being me didn't think anything of it at first. Until i found the note that my parents wrote and left for me on the door. It read “The neighborhood was over run last night and we did not have enough time to get some of our things and get you because they could not take everyone with them. So some people will probably still be here. You need to get out of the house as soon as you can and stay there. We took our guns with us but left the ones that you saved up for and bought for you, so you have those.be careful.” I stood there for a minute thinking about how this could be real.  I decided to check the front door to see if it had actually happened. Doors were open ,backpacks, blankets and other things laid on the street. I was instantly convinced. I locked the door and ran up stairs and grabbed the guns from under my parents bed. I brought them into my room. I put on a thicker pair of camouflage pants over my blue jeans and tightened them with a belt. I replaced the shirt that i had on with a white cotton t shirt under a OD green button up and over that i put on a black hooded shirt and over that a OD green trench coat. I put a few pouches on a belt then a holster and a hitler youth knife from my collection of old war items. I buckle the belt around me sliding a bayonet under the other side of my belt. I stuffed socks and other clothing into a backpack along with a lighter. I put on a german helmet, walked to the bathroom to fill my canteen. Finally i stuffed as much ammunition as i could into a side bag and into the leather bandolier, grabbed my revolver and put it into my holster, loaded the M1 carbine and the lee enfield and left. I love old guns because i'm a history freak. I now know that it was stupid of me to not have packed myself any food. I also didn't have a plan of any place to go, i didn't really have a place to go in the beginning though either. I left the neighborhood after getting passed all of the torn down fencing and sheet metal walls and barbed wire that was supposed to keep us safe. While walking passed all of what was left of what used to be the place i lived outside the walls, i stood in piles of empty brass shell casings and dead bodys of the undead. The first body i saw on the ground was thankfully dead for the second time with its body torn to pieces from being shot somany times. The others i did not care to lay my eyes apon. I held my rifle to my chest, hugging it as i thought of the things i would see from now on.   While walking up the streets looking for something to take shelter in, i hadn't seen any of the dead, even after it hit nightfall. Thankfully there was a corner store i was able to climb up onto the roof of for the night. It wasn't so much the fact that i was probably surrounded by the dead below me that kept me awake all night but it was more the thought of that i might be the only man left alive in this world. By morning the next day i had awoken to a feeling of hunger. “Well shit.” i said when i realised that i had no food. So i climbed down the latter from the top of the corner store and went inside. I crouched down and drew my pistol. Moving ever so slowly to make sure that every lane did not have something (non- human) in it, the corner store was free of the creachers. Opening my backpack i shoved in many cans of spam, instant noodles, chocolate bars and gum. I was even able to make room for two glass bottles of orange soda in one of my pouches. Orange soda was something that had always calmed me down for some reason or another. I didn't have the time to question it now because i had to leave again after eating.

I walked out of the corner store, pistol still drawn. "Still havent seen one" i said climbing back up the ladder to retrieve my guns. After leaving the corner store i walked up a few streets to try and see what else was around me.*nothing much.* after aimlessly wandering to wherever i pleased,i finally saw one of the dead. It wasnt as ugly as someone would think, it was a man about 5,8" with a leather jacket on, he looked pretty normal as if he was alive but he was walking slow and his arm was bloody. Thats all i could see through the scope i had fixed to my gun after i lewded a hunting store i had found the day before, along with other items of my situational value.
