Girls Like You

" Look, look, it's the girls football team of our college", pointed Beam excitedly.

Phana, Kit and Beam were returning to their dorms after their last class of the day. The sun was setting and it was almost dusk.

It had rained in the morning, so the field was wet and muddy. And the girls playing there were too.

They stopped to look at them.

"Do you see that short hair girl over there?", Beam asked.

Phana immediately spotted her because there was only one girl with short hair.

"Yeah", replied Kit.

"Apparently, she's the star player of the team and the captain. Not to mention she's cute too", Beam drooled.

Phana couldn't make it out. They were standing too far away.

"Oh! What's her name?", Asked Kit excitedly.

"Arthit and she's from engg department"

As they chatted, the said person struck a goal, but in the process, slid down the muddy field which made her muddy too.

But the girl didn't care. She got up and whooped in victory.

Phana frowned in distaste. She might be cute. But she was such a tomboy. He likes girls who are feminine and more....refined.

Phana looked at his friends to comment, but saw Beam was totally mesmerized by her. He sighed, apparently, beam liked all the girls in the world.

"Let's go", he said and started walking.

Phana walked to his morning classes, with his head inside his notes. They have a quiz today, and he had to excel.

He was so immersed, that he didn't notice a ball coming in his direction, and it hit him.

His notes flew out of his hand and there was a large muddy ball print on his white shirt. He cursed. Now he would have to go back And change. And forget about the last minute revision.

He looked in the direction of the field and saw someone running towards him to fetch the ball.

"Am sorry", the girl apologised as soon as she reached him and picked up the ball.

Phana looked at her angrily, but was taken aback a little, the girl was very cute with short hair. Must be Arthit.

Phana took a few deep breaths to calm himself down, then muttered tersely," don't bother, happens sometime"

Picked up the notes, and turned to go back.

"You are the campus moon phana!!", She exclaimed.

Phana turned back," yes, and you are the captain of our football team, Arthit"

Her eyes widened comically and a pretty blush graced her face," you know me?"

"Who doesn't?"

She gave him her dimpled smile and said," see you around Phana", and went away.

Phana went back to his dorms, albeit, a little dazed.

Phana was having lunch at the cafeteria with his friends. His head  inside the book again. When something cold touched his cheek.

He looked up to see his friends staring at someone behind his back.
