Chapter 7: A seat at the table

A seat with Aoba

I sat down next to Aoba, who was looking down with a frown. She looked like she was about to cry. "Hey what's wrong?" I asked. She sniffed. "I never knew that you had such a tragic back story." She said looking at me. I was surprised. Toyama must of told them, or just Aoba. I went silent. "Listen, I know that I don't have a good past with my mother. But, she's gone. I don't mind that that she is either, I don't play that song because I miss her. I play it because I can then remember who I am." I said. It looked like she calmed down a little.

A seat with Hajime

I sat down next to Hajime and she started to stare at me. "Yes, is there something I can help you with?" I asked. "Why did you never tell any of us about your mother." She said. Toyama must of told her. I knew that she was straightforward, but this time she was blunt about it. I put my hand on top of her head and started to rub it. "Don't worry about my past with my mother. She ran out on me and quite honestly, I don't care if she did or not. Ive already accepted the fact that is happened. Besides, dandy has a sad story. Yet he doesn't let it get in he way of his work." I said. She looked like she calmed down.

A seat with Yun

I sat down next to Yun and looked over at her. She was playing with the doll that she plays with when somethings on her mind. "Uh oh, what's on your mind?" I asked. She looked up. "How do you know there is something on my mind?" She asked. "Whenever your upset or thinking about something you play with that doll." I answered. She sighed. "I'm just think what would possible possess a wife and mother to abandon there husband and child." She said. Yun looked at me in the eyes. She was talking about my mother. "Hey, I don't know possess my mother. But, she left and I accept that she will never come back. Don't worry about my mother, she doesn't matter." I said. She looked more calm.

A seat with Hifumi

I sat down next to Hifumi. Before I was able to get a bite to eat I felt a little tug on my jacket. I looked over and it was Hifumi. "Yes Hifumi?" I asked. She started to blush and covered her face. "You know, it's okay to tell me about this stuff. I'll listen to your problems if you want to talk about it." She said. I was silent. "I'm fine, I accepted that my mother walked out a long time ago and that's alright. She walked out and that her problem, not mine. Beside, why would I need her when I have someone as cute as you in my life." I said. She went bright red. After a while she calmed down.

A seat with Ko

I sat down next to Ko. She looked pissed. "Woah, I didn't play that bad did I." I said. She turned to me. "It's not you, it's that woman that taught you it that I pissed at." She said. She was talking about my mother. "Listen, thanks for worrying. I appreciate it. I accept the fact that my mother walked out a long time ago. I want nothing to do with her at all, and I'm just fine with that. Beside. I have a woman like you in my life. Why would I need her." I said. It calmed her down. It also made her blush.

A seat with Shizuku

I sat down next to Shizuku and for once she was wasn't looking at me like she wanted to take me home. "Hey, if you ever want to have a mother figure for a time, then tell me then I can treat you like my son." She said. I blushed. "I think that in fine with being your friend Shizuku." I said. "My mother walked out of my dad and I lives. I honestly don't care if she did or not. She was just someone that isn't important to me. I don't need her, especially if I have you." I said. It was the first time that she blushed instead of me.
