One girl, one stage. As the crowd roared, Bailey sang her heart out so everyone could hear. She listened to the cheers, saying "Wake up! Open your eyes!". Then, her real eyes opened, and she could see it was her friend the whole time. They had both been attending the Liberty Performance of Arts College in New York. It was a dream to be given this opportunity, for the Liberty College is the best college to date for helping students achieve broadway fame, while giving others wealthy careers for the future. Bailey, wants to be a broadway star, and is a member and future captain of the cheer squad. While her friend, Emily, came to be a professional dancer, but is studying to be a mathematician as a plan B. "We're gonna be late!". Emily had already laid Bailey's clothes for the day on her bed. Emily stated that there was no time for Bailey to pick out her clothes, so she did it for her. Bailey was really gonna be late, it was 8:15a.m., and class started at 8:30a.m. Emily had decided to wait for her, so Bailey couldn't oversleep. They both rushed and ran to class.
Bailey and Emily did not get to class late, they were there at 8:30 sharp. The class was body sculpting, to make sure their bodies were in perfect shape for any audition they participate in. They were lucky, for every minute you were late, you had to do 2 push-ups, yet some kids came in late just for that reason. It was intense, yet class went by fast, and Bailey and Emily were now back at their dorm. Bailey had singing class in an hour, and she was excited. Singing is her favorite class, and it showed in how she sang. She exceeded everyone's expectations, while she knows she can do better. She starts to warm up, and her friends already start to clap to her tremendous voice. Then, she starts to sing her favorite song. Suddenly, all the voices around her, even hers started to fade. She yelled to try to hear herself, saying , "Help! I can't hear myself! Help!". Everyone rushed to Bailey's side, someone calling 911.
An ambulance now arrived in room 36,and they started asking Bailey questions. Bailey never responded. It looked like the man was mouthing the words, so they decided to take her to the hospital. A police officer showed up at the scene, and started asking teachers and students several questions. They all replied that Bailey was an outgoing student, and had no problems that were known of. The only thing was the night before she fell and hit her head on a desk, but proceeded with her regular day. The police sent this information to the doctors, which gives them stronger evidence of what happened to Bailey.
The doctor wrote on a black board to tell Bailey why she couldn't hear. It stated, " I'm sorry to say, but you have an untreated concussion that was slept on. You are now deaf, and will either get an hearing aid, or learn sign language. Your choice". Bailey then started to cry, because she knew her life would never be the same, and now had to learn to deal with the consequences.
One girl, one stage. Bailey is singing in silence, yet knows the crowd is cheering for her. She doesn't know what they're saying, but wishes to know. One day, again, she will.
