The General and the Mechanic

prologue

Korras pov
It has been 3 months since me and Asami got back from the spirit world and we couldn't be happier right now I'm laying in bed next to my beautiful girlfriend when I hear the doorbell being rang so I carefully untangled myself from sami and quietly snuck down stairs to answer the door i open it up to see a United Forces postman and he hands me a letter from general iroh addressed to me then took his exit so I quietly shut the door and opened the letter and it said that he wants me to join the United Forces and that when I do I will automatically be named general and working alongside him and that he will see me at base in a week if I accept so I fold the letter up and scribble a reply and take it to the United Forces office in republic city and I tell them to get the message to general iroh and then I told them that I accept general irohs offer then they tell me that I have to be on the ship leaving for base tomorrow so I head home and start packing my things sami is not here right now she had to go deal with things at  the office "Korra I am home" sami yelled from the front door "I am in our room" I yelled while finishing packing my last bag I felt sami wrap her arms around my waist she rested her chin on my shoulder "are you going on a trip baby" she said "no iroh invited to join the United Forces and has already mad me a general I leave tomorrow if I want to get to base camp on time I am going to miss you so much sami and never forget that I love you" I say and turn around in her arms so I am facing her she has tears in her eyes so I wipe them away and I kiss her she started kissing back she led me to the bed and pushed me onto it and we started making out after a bit I pulled away and went to take a bath when I got out sami was already asleep so I crawl into bed and under the cover and wrap my arms around her and go to sleep.

The next morning

Asamis pov
I wake up and find Korra still sleeping so I decided to go shopping. I get home and I find Korra bringing her bags down stairs and putting them in our newly upgraded sato mobile then she comes in and grabs both of my hands and looks at me with her beautiful eyes " sami  i know you are not happy about me leaving and I do not want you to worry about me all the time" she says "Korra I will always worry about you because I love you" I say and kiss her then we head to the docks we get there and we get out of the car Korra grabs her things and sets them on the ground and comes over to me and gives me a goodbye kiss and says goodbye "try not to get hurt Korra I can not risk losing you" I say "I can not make any promises on that but I promise that I will come back to you" she says and hugs me she goes and picks her stuff up and heads onto the boat when she gets settled she waves and blows a kiss and I blow one back and wave as the boat pulls away from the dock
