Destiny
I leaned back on my elbows against the porch steps watching the passing cars. The sun finally went down so the city was starting to come to life. Bianca and I been outside all afternoon enjoying the warm weather.
"Bitch I wanna get drunk," she blurted out causing me to turn my head to her.
"Bitch you always wanna get drunk," I shot back and laughed. She flicked me off causing me to laugh a little more.
"Naw for real let's go to the sports bar up the street."
I sat up and grabbed my phone to check the time. It was only 9:30, still early. "Uhhh nah B I ain't really feeling that. Plus it's only Monday, you know it's old head's night. We can go this weekend though."
She put her hands under her chin, resting her elbows on her thighs, and sighed. "Yeah you're right. We need to be going Saturday. I heard Lucci gone be there."
I smirked and nodded in approval. She knew I loved me some fucking Lucci. "Oh bitch Reese just gone have to be mad at me cuz we going to Drip and D'Asia lingerie party this weekend," I said referencing my on/off boyfriend Maurice. Right now we're good and I've been sleeping over at his place, but after this weekend I might be back here in my own bed and single again.
"Ooh shit I almost forgot about yo sister party. You got your outfit already," she questioned me and I shook my head no.
"We can go to the mall when I get off work Wednesday," I suggested and she nodded.
"Fuck Reese. He always going outside and be wanting you to sit up in the house like Molly the maid. Ain't no Big Comfy Couch this weekend, yo ass going outside! Hell he prolly be there anyway," she fussed and I chuckled. Bianca and Reese had a love/hate sibling type of relationship.
Reese is a cool guy, he's naturally likable. But Bianca couldn't stand him sometimes because of the bullshit he be putting me through. She's a firm believer in love doesn't have to hurt.
It's not like Reese is a fucked up person, he just does some fucked up things sometimes. What can I say though? I'm in love and when you really love somebody you see the best in them and think you can help them want to change.
"He just be wanting me safe B, you see all this shit going on around the city. Teenage girls and younger women coming up missing left and right. Shootings all around. He say if I'm outside he'd rather be there so he can protect me," I defended him and shrugged to myself. I leaned forward on my thighs and looked down at my Neon orange painted toes.
"Who you trying to convince, me or yourself," she shot back and I cut my eyes at her.
"Anyway," I sang and turned my body towards her some. She put her hands up quickly, basically saying whatever to the situation. "We can go to the liquor store and I can come back here and whip us up some of my Cajun loaded Alfredo." I smiled and bounced my eyebrows at her watching a wide smile spread across her lips.
"You had me at liquor store but you won my heart at food," she stood up dusting the butt of her pants off and grabbed her phone and the weed.
"A fucking fat ass alcoholic," I joked and we shared a laugh. I grabbed the blunts and stood up dusting myself off too. I stuffed my phone in my back pocket and pulled my shorts down some. "Come inside real quick, let me throw a jacket on and pee. You can be rolling up while you waiting."
She held the door open for me and smiled, "oh you knew that was already in the plans baby." I laughed lightly and we walked inside instantly being met with cool winds from the central air.
