Harry's POV
I made my way up to the door letting my hand linger onto the handle to peak through the window then opened it quickly, the women on the other end looked startled by this as she jumped up a bit but then quickly shook it off with a laugh, smoothing out her winter's coat.
She looked up to me for a moment smiling, "Hello my names Lisa." she stuck her hand out I shook it then quickly brought my hand back down to rub it off on my jeans. "Harry." I replied more harshly than I intended.
"It's nice to met you Harry." I looked at her not willing to say the same for it seemed odd. She stumbled a bit while taking out some papers from her overflowing purse and handed them to me messily.
"I'm part of Project Youth we help kids with school supplies and holidays." she smiled keeping her eyes on me, "We all know Christmas is practically round the corner and this must be such short notice but we could really use some volunteers to cater to the little ones while they wait for Santa."
I licked my lips while scanning through the papers. It seemed interesting it warmed me up a bit. This is the kind of stuff I would do when I was Human, help people whenever I got the chance but now that I'm with Louis I never get to do this kind of stuff anymore he feels it's useless and that brats like these are always ungrateful no matter what.
I gripped onto the papers and looked back down to Lisa who placed her blonde hair, frosted by the snow behind her ear, flakes of it dropped off her hair and added to the amount already on her coat. Her sky blue eyes were filled with hope and seemed to glim under the semi darkness of the sky.
I paused for a moment then uttered "I'll consider it."
A smile grew on her face as she leaped up and pulled me into the tightest hug she could muster. "Thank you, it's extremely appreciated."
Taken back by the sudden embrace i lately reacted hugging her as she prepared to pull away.
She laughed so I went along. "I'll have to consult my partner.." I muttered weakly.
"Yes of course." she replied quickly still not breaking her smile. "oh" she clasped her hands together now. "maybe she can help too if she wants.""Yeah maybe he can." Slight edge came out of my voice as I grinned at her now.
She looked hurt, "oh yes maybe he can help.. too...sorry.."
I looked back down to the floor, crossing my arms now and smirked up at her.
Her cheeks grew bright red matching with the button of her nose now. She then wrapped her blanket of a coat more securely around herself and stumbled off, the misty white fog engulfing her.I continued to look out the door till the wind began to rush into the house. I gripped onto the papers while using my shoulder to force the door shut. The muffled sound of wind lingered outside as I stood in front of the door trying to think about what to say to Louis, if I should say something.
I really want to do this. I'm not sure why maybe there's a part of me that still cares. I felt my hands grow sweaty as my heart slightly fastened. What should I say? Should I tell him I'm going, should I ask him to join, should I ask him if I even could?
I gripped my fist while pressing it against the door, "No..stop it.." I muttered to myself angrily. He's my boyfriend not my fucking father I don't need his permission.
I quickly turned around to make sure he was still sitting down.
I could see him hunched over his plate now, sipping from his drink. but his head was slightly titled. I could tell he was trying to see me in the corner of his eye.
I licked my lips while placing the paper between my thighs to hold onto them so I could wipe my hands onto my jeans, then quickly snatched the papers back up from my thighs to head back into the kitchen.
