Hey. Okay, so new story!
Hope you enjoy this one, and if you haven't already read my other story Being Loved By A Monster, please do. It is a werewolf story and is completed.
This is going to be set in the time of warriors, horses and castles. So please do read this, it is entirely different to my other story. I have been wanting to write a historical fiction for a long time with my own little twist. Okay so here it goes!
Chapter One
Rain drizzeld in a frequent rhythm from the dark, grey clouds. The rain fall would be welcomed by farmers for their crops survival and the homeless would be greatful for a bit of water to touch their parched lips. However I was grateful for this rain for an entirely different reason. By the heavens opening and gracing us with this weather it increased my survival in these unfamiliar woods as it washed away my scent.
I kept running despite the ache and pain that is shooting through my bare feet from this broken branch terrain. I had to keep running, my survival depended upon it. I wouldn't even call the miracle of my own conciousness a life anymore, I was simply surviving.
I had no reason to keep on surviving except for the basic insticnt of a human beings will to survive. I had nothing to live for; all my family and friends died in the massacre that had befallen my village when I was twelve years old. I had been the only surviver of my village because that night I had snuck out without consent to feed the horses in a pen near the stream. When I came back the sight of all those bodies and the hoarse screaming...
I shake my head to get rid of the image that had frequented my nightmares since I was a child. That was four years ago. I am now sixteen summers and a woman...a woman trapped in the world of slavery.
I have seen horrifc sights for the past four years; beatings, torture, murder and rape...luckily I have not succumbed to the last two yet. However, I knew there was only a matter of time if I stayed captured so I had to escape.
When my town was being masaccered I had started to scream for my mother and father, the first mistake I had made was drawing attention to myself. The second mistake I had made was not running away back to the horses to ride away from the danger that my village couldn't survive.
No village survives a ransacking by the King and his warrior troops.
I can still remember the monster's face that was pulled into a self satisfying, cruel smile that twisted his handsome features. He had been tall, I envisioned him as a mountain of muscle when I was a child, with broad shoulders that were fitted in shiny armour. "Hello, little human."
I remember the snarl on his face, it still haunts me. I couldn't save myself as I was only a child and he was a man; not only that, I was a defencless human and he was an unforgiving werewolf.
Werewolves had plagued our country for as long as I can remember. I have been told tales from the old men who used to live in my village that humans weren't always treated like this. Our race had befallen such tragedy and cruelty due to a mistake of one of our own. A human man had been the soul mate to the current King's sister, princess Arabella, a werewolf beauty with eyes for a human only.
The tale had started magically; their love was known as the purest across the kingdom, those without love envious of the couple. I don't know the specific details, but as the tale goes the human man was found in the embrace of another woman. The princess killed herself due to a brokenheart, she couldn't take the deceit that had befallen her. The King killed the man with his bare hands and declared hate for the human race and how we were all untrustworhty animals.
And that is how we got treated, as untrsutworthy animals, for years and years afterwards.
The warrior who captured me sold me into the slave trade as I was of no use to him, I was a twelve year old girl uncapable of entertaining the men the way they would want me to. I still thank God that I am in possession of my maiden hood. That was one thing they hadn't taken away from me.
