-Kaylie's POV-
I was walking down the hall like I usually do. Just observing everything. Then I saw her. Raven. God, I hated how she always wanted to break the rules! Act like she owned the place! It's annoying!
Then out of nowhere, the bell rung. "Time for class.." I mumbled to myself. I walked to class, ignoring everyone's rude comments towards me. I made it to my class and sat in my seat. The teacher soon began talking about the lesson.
-Time Skip, after class-
-Raven's POV-I walked out of the classroom. That girl Kaylie was staring at me again. What's her deal? She always gives me these looks like "You should be dead". What the hell did I ever do to her?
I continued walking to my locker when someone snuck up behind me and wrapped their hands around my waist. I quickly jumped away from them and turned the face the culprit. I instantly calmed down seeing as it was my girlfriend/best friend, Jasmine. "Jesus, you scared me." She giggled.
"That's my job." She smiles, making me smile. She leans down and kisses me, and I instantly kiss her back.
"Hey! Break it up! No PDA!" I hear someone scold. I break away from Jasmine and look in the direction I heard the voice from. But it's none other than Kaylie. Lovely.
"Oh, we're sorry, Miss Jones." I smirk. I look back at Jasmine. "I'll see you later, okay?" I tell her and she nods as she smiles at me again. She hugs me and kisses my cheek before walking away. I turn back to Kaylie but she's gone. I shrug and prepare for the next class I have to endure.
-Kaylie's POV-
It was finally time to go home. I was relieved.
"Raven Smith and Kaylie Jones, report to the principal's office." I heard over the intercom. Huh? It's the end of the school day! Can't we just go home?!
I walked in the direction of the office anyways. Soon, I saw Raven walking from the other direction. I sped up my pace to get there sooner than her. She stayed at her pace. I ran into the office, her running in right after me.
"You needed me, sir?" I asked, quite politely. Unlike Smith over here.
"Yes, take a seat. Both of you." He looked at Raven as I was walking to one of the chairs. "Raven?"
"You are aware I don't like being told what to do, right?" She spoke up. Mr. Thomas sighed.
"Please sit. This is important." He gestured to the seat beside me. I rolled my eyes.
"Ugh, fine." She told him, walking to the seat. She sat down, signaling for him to go on with what he called us here for.
"It has come to my attention that you two have been having... tension between the two of you. I want to know why."
"Why what now?" I asked, trying to understand what he was asking.
"Here's a question I've been wanting to know the answer to. Why do you hate me?" I could tell she was asking me, but I didn't know what to say.
I looked at her. "I um. Um, uh..." I sighed, but continued. "Because you're always breaking the rules, you act like you don't care for anyone else but yourself! And it's soooo annoying!" I finally spoke my mind. I'm sorta shocked that I said that. That I found the courage to do that.
"Now, Raven, your response?" He urged for her to say something. She just stood up, grabbed her belongings and left without another word. Wow.
-Raven's POV-
I can't believe that she actually said that. Is that what everybody thinks? What if it is? I'm like the definition of Miss Understood.
I ran home and into my room, ignoring my foster mom.
"Hey, are you okay?" My older foster brother came in and asked.
"I'm fine." I told him. But of course he didn't believe me. I felt him sit down beside me.
"Look at me." I finally managed to look at him. I was crying. He wiped the tears away and held me close to him.
"I'm always here. Just to let you know." He told me before kissing my head. "For whatever is going on." I sighed and nodded.
"I know." I told him.
"What's up?" He asked.
"Oh, just your regular people not understanding you," I told him.
"What?" He asked. "Who?"
I shrugged. "Just this girl. The principal called us to the office because apparently he's been 'noticing tension between us'. So she told me what she thought of me. She said she hated me because I always break rules and because I act like I don't care about anyone." I explained.
I looked right into his eyes, tears in mine. "Wow."
"Yeah." I looked away from him.
"You should get some rest, okay?" He said. I looked back at him, realizing he was right. I nodded and he left the room.
