The Earth Dragon Slayer

The Beginning

Year X777

It was a dark and gloomy day. Rain hit the forest floor, not showing any mercy. Puddles of water and mud began to form. Small feet splashing among them could be heard in the distance between the sound of rain hitting different objects in the forest and the loud boom of thunder above. A young child, who was panicked and searching for many different things it seems before the storm begun, was now running for shelter, in fear of the storm above. She found a small shelter like area inside a bush. As she crawled through the small branches of the bush, she gained a few cuts and gashes on her tan skin from the thorns of the bush. As she sat there alone, her mind was filled with what she was searching for. Elvina... Cana... Daddy... The guild of the Fairies?... But soon her thoughts were interrupted by the loud cracking of lightning, causing the small child to yelp in fear.
Being so terrified of the loud vicious lightning, she didn't pay attention to the voices of two people talking in the distance, closing in on her.
Another strike of lightning sent another helpless, terrified yelp from her lips. The strangers walking through the forest heard this, causing them to stop in the tracks. They soon begin to search for the source. She heard the snapping of twigs & splashes from puddles as footsteps come near her hiding spot, causing her to peek out in curiosity. Her eyes caught that of a blonde teenage boy with a large scar going through his eye. She hid back into the bush, nervously as she heard the young boy shout to someone else she couldn't quite get a look at before hiding her face back into the bush. "Hey gramps! I think I found something- i mean someone."
The blonde boy made his way closer to the bush, with a short older man following close behind.
"H-hey.. No need to be scared kid." The blonde began to pull the branches of the bush back. All that they could see was a small child, around the age of 5, maybe 6. She was dressed in a green dress, which wasn't the nicest thing considering it was made by Elvina herself. But the dress was now torn, revealing many scratches and gashes from running about the forest. She was tan and had long dark brown hair, messily covering her face. But peeking from between strands of hair that fell into her face, were beautiful emerald eyes. She shakily sat on her bum, scooting herself away slowly. That's when the older man, known as gramps, cleared his throat and spoke up. "No need to be afraid my child." He stepped closer. "Are you lost? Is your family not with you?" The small child began to look up. They could see the fear and sadness in her beautiful emerald eyes as tears peaked at the corner. She nodded, but very weakly. The blonde boy stepped up, crouching in front of the girl. He held his large hand out to the small child. The older man seemed somewhat shocked by his caring actions.
The blonde boy finally spoke up after an awkward stare off between the tiny girl and himself. "I'm Laxus-" He then pointed back to the man known as gramps "and thats Makarov, but you just call him gramps. Do ya have a name, kid?"
The child made eye contact with him once again. She was studying him. She could sense – more like smell – what he was. This caused her to feel, oddly comfortable with the young man. Her tiny hand reached for his, shakily. "A-aspen." She whispered as she took ahold of Laxus's hand. Her tiny fingers gave his hand a gentle squeeze. Her hand was so miniature compared to his larger one.
Her actions caused one side of the boy known as Laxus's mouth to curl up into a side smile. "Thats a beautiful name. Fit for a queen." This brought a smile to both little Aspen face and Makarov's face. Laxus slowly stood up, still holding Aspens delicate hand, making sure not to scare her or hurt her. Aspen looked up at the tall kind boy. 'S-so this is what trusting a h-human is like..' she thought to herself. She was soon interrupted by a small chuckle from gramps. Makarov smiled gently at the child. "Let's take you home, child, to Fairy Tail."
That clicked something in young Aspens head. The guild of fairies... Could it be? She found something she was searching for? That could lead her to her father, sister, and possibly Elvina? A somewhat shocked yet happy expression rose upon her face as she nodded. She walked hand and hand with the teenage boy as she was led to this so called Fairy Tail.

This is only the beginning.
(Sorta like a flashback)

This is my very first story & I'm sooo nervous about posting this! It's a story I've been wanting to write for over a year now and I'm finally doing it! It may not be the best story but I'm trying my hardest to make it a great one! This story is gonna go throughout the entire anime series! Some chapters may be short & others may be super duper long!
