Chapter 1 ❁

*Rivers POV*

"Sergio hurry up and finish eating, we're going to be late!" I kept yelling at Sergio to finish his breakfast, which consisted of pancakes and bacon, while I finished tying my shoe laces. He always comes to my house in the mornings during the weekdays to eat breakfast since he gives me rides to school.

School started in less than fifteen minutes and it was at ten minute drive there, we're seriously not gonna make it on time.

"Stop rushing me and also stop worrying River, we'll make it on time." He tried to reassure me, and I mean TRIED since I know how slow he drives because he 'likes to take his time' and he loves to blast music on the way there.

After 5 minutes of rushing Sergio, we finally get in his car and drive off but not before he plugs his phone in and blasts Stand By Me by Prince Royce.

"Y aunque las montañas o el cielo caiga no voy a preocuparme por que se, que tu estas junto a mi." We both sang, well, more liked yelled the song on the way to school, but there's nothing like spending time with your best friend and blasting music.

We make it to school two minutes before the bell rings and may I say, I'm surprised.
"We actually made it to school before the bell rings? Wow Sergio you actually didn't drive like a grandpa today, I'm impressed." I start to mock him.

"Well someone kept yelling at me to drive faster, and by the way I don't drive like a grandpa, it's called safe driving." We started to walk through the school doors and make our way to our lockers.

Sergio's locker was across from mine, so we just went to each other's locker depending on who got their books first. He came up to mine while I was putting my chemistry book away, right when I grab my math book he immediately shuts it before I can finish putting the rest of my things away.

"Sergio, I seriously hope you know that I really hate you right about now!" I put my locker combo then reopened my locker to finish up.

"But..... you actually don't cause Im your best friend, and technically, you can't live without me." I just gave him a hard stare before I started to walk to our first period, which sadly, was Math.

We got to class pretty early since it was just down the hall from our lockers. We went to go sit at out desks which, yes you guessed it, were right next to each other. People started filling up the desks around us as the bell rang, which meant first period had begun.

"River, I actually have soccer practice from 3:30 to 5, so I don't think I can give you a ride home. Unless you want to wait and I can take you after practice." I looked at him and sighed.

"Yeah, I guess I can wait. I don't want to ask anyone else for a ride, and plus, I don't have anything to do, my parents won't be home tonight since they have a business trip so it's just me for the next couple of days." I said.

"How about I come over and we can just hangout and watch movies? I know you get lonely without your parents being there, so I want to keep you company." He always knew how to cheer me up and make me feel better. Especially when my parents travel a lot due to their job, But Im actually really close to my parents even though they aren't home a lot, I always FaceTime them when they're not busy and we always catch up, they're like my best friends.

"I'd really enjoy that, we can order pizza or Chinese also." I smiled at him.

"Okay class, lets begin. Please take out your math books and do numbers one through four as a warm up." The teacher finally came in five minutes after the bell rang. Sergio and I both sighed, this was just a perfect way to start the day, doing math.

Hey guys, I know this was a short and boring chapter but the story overall will be a little more interesting! I hope you enjoyed this though. I'll hopefully update tomorrow!!
