She looked, almost glared, at the path leading to a dense and thick forest. The path was made of stone, most of it was demolished, showing off a dirt path. 'There's no going back after this...' she thought. Being 100% sure of this decision, she took a step forward, repeating the action.

Crunch...
Crunch...
Crunch...

The crunches of the fallen leaves were deafening. It sounded like bones getting crushed because of her stepping on it. With that thought, she almost let out her insides, but she let it in.

The night sky was getting more and more visible by the minute-no, second-. The forest was getting deeper and deeper. It was getting harder for her to see the sky or where she came from. Nonetheless, she kept going. What motivated her to do this?? Well, it was mostly the ball, but otherwise, it was nothing. It felt as if she was supposed to go this way. Even if that was the reason, it didn't clear up the bad feeling in her gut. She started to sweat from all the 'exercise' she had been doing today. The part of her gown located on the back started to take a much more darker color than before because of all the sweat. Just wonderful. Not only does she have to change her clothing when she arrives at home, she also has to take a quick bath to prevent her from smelling like she had not bathed in a week.

"Arooooooooooooooooo!"

A wolf howled. It was close, probably a few miles away. It was loud, though not enough to make her think it was getting dangerous. Nonetheless, panic rose in her chest as she started to quicken her pace.

"ARRRROOOOOOOOO!"

Another wolf howled. This time, it was nearer then before. Her quickened pace turned into a sprint. She didn't care if her gown got dirty. She didn't care if the scrunching of the leaves were getting louder. All she cared about was getting to safety, which was her home.

After a few minutes of running, it did not seem to get any better than what she initially had in mind. The howling multiplied, getting more nearer. She didn't dare look back. She was scared that if she did, wolves would be chasing after her. Her brows were furrowed. Tears started to fall from her eyes. She didn't want to die. Not like this. She had so much to live for.

Not even looking at the direction she was heading-because she was praying silently-, she tripped on a rock and fell face flat on the pile of leaves below her.

Groaning at the new sensation she wasn't expecting, she tried to get up.

Keyword: TRIED

As soon as she started getting up, sharp teeth engulfed themselves into her leg, almost cutting a piece of it off. It was very sharp, almost like a thousand knives stabbing themselves into her leg. The bite was deep. Yet even if it was already deep, the animal that was biting her shook its head, trying to get the piece off. Blood trickled down like a waterfall from the deep bite, falling onto the pile of leaves, giving it a crimson color.

She screamed in agony. The pain was unbearable. Tears trickled down her face like a opened faucet. Fast. She wanted to go home. She screamed for help.

No one answered.

Finally, she tried to kick the animal off of her using her free leg, and by the feel of it, it was most definitely a wolf. Even if she was kicking as hard as she can, the wolf would NOT come off, meaning that it was REALLY hungry.

After a few tugs and kicks that the two shared, it seemed that the wolf was the victor. It cut off a piece of Rose's leg, cutting off strings of nerves, piles of meat, and skin.

She screamed once more. The pain was more unbearable now. Her blood was oozing out more times than what you would expect. The wolf was happy, though. It got what it wanted. Meat. It munched on it like there was no tomorrow. Eating it for the sake of its hunger. The meat was most certainly delicious for the wolf, so it seems. It ate it piece by piece, the skin separating from its other pieces, along with the nerves, everything. Blood from the piece flowed down whenever it was cut.

The sight of this made Rose throw up her insides. It was disgusting.

After she vomited. She started to crawl using the strength in her arms. She knew she was not going to make it, but at least she tried, right?? People would either find her as a skeleton, or something else. Though, she highly doubt it. She was too into the forest for them to find her. But she knew her mother would do ANYTHING to find her daughter.

Black dots circled around her eyesight. The cause was probably because of blood loss. She wasn't going to survived this.

With the last piece of her strength, she stopped for a moment and thought about what she had done in life. The picnics with her family, watching the sunset. The way she played with other children using her kite when she was young. Their simple life style. The favorite bread that she would eat for breakfast. Her birthdays. Her first ever crush. Her grades. Everything. She had so much to live for. She wanted to marry someone, find the one for her. Children. Ruling the kingdom. Making new memories with her family and the others. And many more. She wish she could live longer, talked, loved longer, everything.

"I'm..... sorry...... everyone.... I love you..... all...."

With that, she closed her eyes, preparing for eternal sleep, which happily can to her. At least she would finally be into another world, happy. Not needing to remember the bad memories, only the good ones. Her love for everyone was everlasting. She breathes out her last breath, her body going still, her heart beat getting slower, and slower, until it stopped.

"Arrooooooooo!!!!!"

The wolf called out to its family, which devoured its dead, lifeless prey bit by bit.

We will never forget you, Rose. Just remember, we love you all the time, forevermore...

Lots of love,
...
