When people think of the avengers they think of the all mighty hero's who are afraid of nothing. I on the other hand know for a fact that they are human, humans have fears.
Everyone knows Steve Rogers the amazing Captain America, The first avengers blah blah blah. You see me and him go way back, I'm his best friend. Who you may not know is James Buchanan Barnes, yes he does have a section at a museum but who goes to museums any more.
Since I am Steve's best and only friend, he's told me many stories about the man. An example, when Steve was fighting this dude in an alleyway James or Bucky as he goes by saved him by quite literally kicking him in the *beep*
So after hearing all of the stories of him via Steve when he came back from a whole hydra, winter and metal arm situation I was excited to meet him. Of course due to him being ya know tortured I did expect him to be distant I mean who wouldn't be. So I made it my mission to try and 'break the ice'.
You see with the situation he was in it was quite obvious that he would come out with issues. I don't think many people realise he was tortured and brainwashed but he was. The team especially seems to forget this part of his story always getting mad when he is being distant and not interacting with the people. I mean what did they expect a happy, cheerful and social guy. The Bucky they got is completely opposite to all of that he's sad, depressing and distant man to everyone including Steve. STEVE the man who he grew up with and who was there for him no matter what.
The Bucky I thought I knew through stories and pictures and videos wasn't the one sitting in his room across the hall pacing in his room instead of sleeping because he's to scared of the dreams that will haunt him when he closes his eyes. The memories of his victims the final look on their face always haunting him because in his mind he was the monster. So I (Y/N) (Y/L) will make sure that he does not think that anymore. May it be a a year, 6 or even 27 years I will make sure that James Buchanan Barnes does not think everything he did under the control of hydra was his fault. If it's the last thing I do.
