It is the day of my engagement party and I am too hype. Maybe it is from all of the sugar I been eating today. I been craving nothing but sweets all day. This pregnancy is different from when I carried Faith and my first son. With them I was sick all the time and only wanted healthy foods. Now, I don't get sick and all I want is junk. I do try to balance everything out though and I can tell little man aint having it. He is going to be stubborn just like his father and older sister.
"You ready?" Saint ask coming into out room. I nod my head and he comes and helps me up. We walk out the room and get on the elevator. Summer, Faith, and Jordan are waiting for us in the living room.
"Mommy you look pretty." Faith says
"You really do." Summer says
"Miss S., you couldn't wait for a nigga to turn 18?" Jordan says causing me to laugh but causes for Summer and Saint to straight face him. Like father like daughter. We all get into Saint's truck and head to where the party is being held.
When we get there I am in awe. Everything matching my wedding theme and I am speechless. Our moms really did an amazing job and it brought tears to my eyes. Mrs. James comes over and hugs me. She leads us to our seats. I see my whole family had come all the way out her. All eight of my mom's brothers and sisters came. Ghost and Mimi, both my grandparents, my little brother and sister, Honey, Kim, April, Rob, Big G, Nate, Puzzle, and his boo. I went and greeted everyone. When dinner was ready to be serived Pastor Tim blesses the food and we dig in.
We spend the night dancing, playing games, toast, and funny stories.
"I never thought that my brother would get married. He was always about his paper and dogging women. But, by him being with Diamond has really changed him from being a little boy to a man. I am proud of my baby bro. They are the meaning of true love. To Diamond and Saint, I wish y'all nothing but happiness and more kids!" Killa says
"To Diamond and Saint." Everyone says.
My mom stands up "Now, y'all now I ain't a crier. But, seeing my baby girl so beautiful and happy brings tears to my eyes. I am glad that she has someone who loves her and my grandbabies with all his heart. I spend a few weeks with them back in L.A. and you could always feel the love in that house. Just being around them you can see that two are madly in love and would do anything for each other and their growing family. I am proud of the woman Diamond has grown to be. I love you baby girl. Saint, hurt her I hurt you." We all laugh. But, everyone who truly knows her knows she aint lying about hurting him.
After all the toast is done Saint ask me to dance and we just sway back and forth. I look into his eyes and see this man really does love me. He has been giving me the same look since our first date and it hasn't changed. We ended up having a make out session right there on the dance floor. But, it was interrupted by yelling and things crashing. We turn to the scene and see my grandmother and Saint's mom going at it. Saint runs to help Killa, Ghost, Rida, and my poppa to get them apart. This night was going so damn well. I walk over to the scene and my grandmother is going off. They take her into the woman's restroom area. My mom and I go in there and check on her.
She sees me "How could you let this hussy plain you engagement party?" she yells
"Bitch, I got your hussy!" Mrs. James yells
"Guys, please not right now. There are kids here and you both are making asses out yourselves." Mr. James says
"Tell her no matter how many parties she throws she can never take my place in Diamond's life."
"From what I hear that wouldn't be hard to do." Mrs. James isn't holding back any punches. My grandmother breaks free and attacks Mrs. James. The guys get them apart.
