I had a mission. I need to make him fell in love with me in order to save his life.
It was all started from a month ago.
It was a cloudful day. Where the summer was nearly end. Everyone on the street wore few layers to cover their skin from the autumn breeze. I was never good with cold. Autumn breeze was enough to make me hid myself behind thick layers of clothes. I snooped around the vintage cafe near me. I pried on the large glass display window of the cafe, looked at my own reflection, observing myself from head to toe. I turned myself from side to side, facing the glass. I looked ridiculously puffy in those clothes. Then, I realised there was people sitting right behind the reflection I focused at. I immediately strode away from that spot, hiding in shame, regretting my own action.
"Hikari!!" A very cheerful familiar voice called my name. I turned to the source and found a girl running toward me, panting, showing a delighted expression. There was no guilt on her face at all.
I crossed my arms on the chest, gave her a wicked stare.
She tapped my shoulder as she reached me. With head sank to her neck, panting and sighing, while controlling her own breath. "Sor-ry... I'm a bit late" As she turned to me and grinned like it was no big deal. I shove her hand off my shoulder and turned away from her.
"You better explain what is going on, Mia" I exclaimed.
I peeked at Mia. She wore thin for a breezy day. A very cute thin sweater paired with a mini skirt and fluffy little boots. She showed so much skin. It was impossible for me to wear something like that in that kind of weather. I knew she was attentive to fashion but It was too much sacrifice, or was it just me who over reacting? I looked around the location. Many people seemed to wore similarly. I was stunned.
".....ri. Hikari?? Did you hear me?" I snapped from my own world. Mia looked at me questioned. She seemed like saying something before. But, I pretended that I heard what she said, so I nodded bluntly. Mia then slipped her arm behind my arm and dragged me inside the cafe.
The cafe was very warm and sweet-scented. We walked pass by the front cashier, there I spotted the small-cut-cakes inside the display. They looked yummy. Are we here to eat cakes? I thought. But, the thought was immediately proofed wrong. Mia and I walked pass by few blank seats, we were somehow heading to the crowded long table at the corner of the cafe. There filled with young fashionable people mixed of men and women. I was shocked to death and turned uptight. Mia blended in so natural, she found a blank seat and told me to seat beside her. I went and did as she said. I sat down tensely. I could feel the stare from those strangers on to me. It was like I am an alien or such. I felt uncomfortable, around the crowd. I took deep breath in and out.
"Mia! You didn't tell me about this!" I whispered, angrily. Mia seemed surprise. She leaned close to me, "Didn't I tell you before we came in?" She whispered back, questioned. My memory was stirred. I realised what I missed in the short blank before. Mia looked concerned. I couldn't help it but had to accept the situation. She sensed the uneasiness of mine, she yanked my shoulder and beamed happily, "You'll be fine!" She confidently declared. I lightly nodded and replied her with a weak smile.
Everything went on smoothly. Those people were nice enough to not pulling my leg. In fact, I was much ignored by them. Was it my outfit?
Mia was able to casually chit chat with those people. She sometimes asked my opinion in order to drag me into their conversation. But, it didn't work well as I didn't know what to say other than a 'Yes' and 'No'.
"By the way, what is her name again?" One of Mia's friend suddenly looked at me, questioned. I was somehow bothered by that statement. It was the third time she asked Mia my name instead of directly to me.
